The biggest music event to hit the City of Brotherly Love since Live Aid is coming to Philadelphia. Live 8 is Saturday, July 2nd, and Philadelphia will be one of 8 cities across the world hosting concerts to bring awareness to the poverty and destruction that is plaguing countries around the world, especially in Africa. Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z, Destiny's Child, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys, Rob Thomas, Dave Matthews, Toby Keith, The Black Eye Peas, Bon Jovi, and Def Leppard, to name a few, will be in Philly. Will Smith will be hosting along with Brad Pitt and a host of other celebrities. I will be doing my show live from the event, and next week, I will fill you in on some of the backstage action.
Being Bobby Brown is here! The reality show, starring Bobby Brown and his wife Whitney Houston, is the talk of the town. The show airs on Thursday nights on the Bravo network at 10pm. Everything you always wanted to know about the Browns, including the Preparation H, Whitney's constipation, their sex life, their kids and their madness.
Whitney is looking great since leaving rehab. She has been off drugs for over 3 months, and she is sleeping and eating properly. For the first time in years, she is sleeping without drugs and avoiding nicotine and caffeine. Whitney undergoes daily massages, acupuncture, yoga and meditation.
These are not the best days for Author Terry McMillian. Hot on the heels of her new book, The Interruption Of Everything, her life is being interrupted by a scandalous divorce. Terry is in the midst of divorcing her husband of six years, Jonathan Plummer. Jonathan was the young love of her life. He was 23 years younger than her when they fell in love in Jamaica. She even wrote a book about it, How Stella Got Her Groove Back. Well, the groove is gone because Jonathan has left her for another man! Terry suspected something was wrong with the male phone calls and his visits to gay chat sites. When he revealed his true sexual identity, she went ballistic and kicked him out. Jonathan claims he was harassed and attacked by his ex daily. He signed a pre-nup when he married her. But, when they went to court, he fought it because he claimed he was used to living a certain way. Terry claimed he stole money from her even though she gave him the money to start his own pet grooming business. Terry has to go on the road to promote her new book. How is she going to handle it? Will she talk about it? Her relationship with him was very public, and now their breakup is making news all over the place. I feel so bad for her. This is the ultimate humiliation. Will it wedding number three or baby number one for Oscar Winner Halle Berry? She is back with longtime love Michael Ealy. They played love interests on the ABC movie, Their Eyes Were Watching God, and it spilled off screen. Halle wants to be a mommy, but she doesn't want to be married. After getting hurt twice, she doesn't want to go down that road again, but Michael doesn't want kids out of wedlock. He is insisting on being married. Halle and Michael broke up over this issue, but true love prevails and the two are back together. What will come first, marriage or the baby? Halle is 38, and she says she wants a baby by the time she turns 40.
Is Rapper Eve pulling a Paris Hilton? There is a sex tape being circulated on the internet showing Eve and her former boyfriend, Producer Stevie J, engaging in a sex act with a sex toy. The short video was made in 1999. Eve, who stars on the UPN show, 'Eve,' is said to be devastated over it's release, and, she has hired a private investigator to find out how it got out.
Where is Michael Jackson? Michael has made only one statement since his acquittal on child molestation charges. On his website, he thanked his fans and family for their support. A lot of people thought he was being kept away by the nanny of his children. The nanny, Grace, has a lot of influence over him and she takes care of his kids. She has known Michael since she used to date his older brother Jermaine. Needless to say with Jermaine and Randy's history, The nanny and Randy do not get along. Everybody wants to be Michael's right hand, and Randy has been fighting the nanny for that spot. The battle is also on for who will get the first interview with the King of Pop. Will it be Barbara Walters or Oprah Winfrey? Whoever it is, they will have to pay big bucks because the interview will go to the highest bidder. The interviewer will also have to abide to strict ground rules because Michael wants editorial control. He will never allow another interview like the one he did with British Journalist Martin Bashir. Sources say he is in hiding because he wants to drive up interest for an interview. Can somebody get ex-American Idol Contestant Corey Clark some anger management classes? Clark spent a part of last weekend in jail after beating up his girlfriend, who is also his manager. Clark, 24, got into a tussle with his 35-year-old girlfriend and it got out of hand with her suffering cuts and bruises. Clark's temper got him into trouble years ago when he was arrested for beating up his kid sister. When he failed to disclose this info to producers at American Idol, they kicked him off the show. Earlier this year, Clark made headlines when he revealed he had an affair with American Idol Judge Paula Abdul.
In other Idol news, get ready for the celebrity version of American Idol. This version will feature 10 well known singers who compete for a million dollar prize that will be donated to their favorite charity.
Singer Brian McKnight has left Motown Records. Brian didn't feel appreciated at his former record label. Brian was upset when Motown refused to release part two of his Gemini CD. Brian made over $300 million for this company, and he felt disrespected when they accused him of being too ambitious. Where will his next recording home be? Could it be Virgin Records, or will he join the Clive Davis family?
Are you ready for more of R Kelly's Trapped In The Closet? R's new album, TP3-Reloaded, is coming out on the 5th of July featuring the Trapped versions 1 thru 5 and a DVD of the movie. Well, R Kelly says get ready for versions 6 thru 13, which will be out by December. The saga continues.
Did you catch the BET Awards? What did you think? How about that Fugees reunion? How about Lauryn Hill wearing that wig? Remember how she used to diss people who wore weaves, fake hair and nails? I thought Will and Jada did a good job doing the hosting duties. If you missed Monique as the host of the show, she couldn't do the job if she wanted too. Monique is pregnant with twins! She is back with a former flame from Baltimore, and they are excited about the upcoming birth. I had a chance to talk to Monique a few years ago when I was pregnant, and she told me she looked forward to having another child. She is already the mother of a teenage son.

Singer Al Green says he's tired of being alone. Al says he's at the point in his life where he is looking for the right woman.
Prince's ex-wife Mayte Garcia will be hosting a new hour long music video show on the E Channel. The show, called The Daily Blend, premieres July `8th.
Actress Victoria Rowell may be leaving the soap opera, The Young & The Restless. Rowell plays the popular character Drucilla. Word has it she was asked to take a budget cut, and she said no.
The wedding is back on for Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child and Dallas Cowboy Star Roy Williams. The two have reconciled after calling off their previous engagement.
How hot is Disney Star Raven Symone? The Tween Queen has a new perfume coming out called, Raven, and she has just been named the producer of her hit show, That's So Raven. All of this and she is only 19.

Singer John Legend has been named the new spokesperson for GAP Clothing.
D.L. Hughley's new weekend talk show, Weekends At The DL, premieres July 29th on the Comedy Central network. The show will air Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights at 11pm.
At the movies, it's War Of The Worlds with Tom Cruise, Dakota Fanning and Tim Robbins. Despite Tom Cruise's media craziness, look for this movie to debut at number one. The movie was directed by Steven Spielberg.
Ebony Magazine is expanding. Ebony is branding their name with merchandising as they expand with games, toys, clothing, mobile technology, and credit cards.
Isaac Hayes is going to be honored on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year.
The critically acclaimed movie, Crash, is coming out on DVD on September 6th. The movie stars Don Cheadle, Thandie Newton, Terrence Howard, Ludacris and Matt Dillon.
Get ready for Toy Story 3 in 2008. The animated movie will once again feature the voices of Tim Allen and Tom Hanks as Buzz Lightyear and Woody.

Ann Nesby has returned to The Sounds Of Blackness. In the early 90's, they topped the charts with the hit song, Optimistic. Ann left the group to pursue a solo career, and now, she is back. The Sounds of Blackness with Ann Nesby will be releasing a new album, Unity, on July 12th.
Fashion Correspondent and Stylist Steven Cojocaru is not doing well. Earlier this year, he underwent a kidney transplant because he suffers from a heredity kidney disease. Cojo received a new organ in January, but it became infected and he had to have it removed. He is now on a list, and he has to wait for another kidney donor.
Are Lionel Richie and his ex-wife Brenda getting back together? Years ago, Brenda kicked his behind and his girlfriend's too when she found out he was cheating on her. Brenda got arrested and the marriage was history. Apparently, Lionel and Brenda are getting back together for one day only as their daughter Nicole gets married. Nicole Richie, the star of the Fox show, The Simple Life and ex-best friend of Socialite Paris Hilton, is their adopted daughter. They have raised her since she was three years old. When Nicole was born, her parents were unable to take care of her, and she was adopted by the Richies.
Representatives for Sony Music are denying rumors that they rejected an album submitted by Singer Maxwell because of gay lyrics. They claim they have received no album from the singer, and they have no idea when he will be releasing one. Well this is pretty strange, he was scheduled to go on tour this spring in conjunction with a new album. We waited to get the official word but nothing happened. They had the concert venues scheduled as they waited for the album to be released. Will Maxwell ever come forward and reveal what's going on?
Martin Lawrence returns to the big screen on this week with Rebound. Wendy Raquel Robinson also stars.
