This buying a whole new warddrobe for LTS sucks. *sighs* business casual and a white outfit and a dress and now closed toe shoes. I don't have any of those white or not, very stressful and still no packet

there's no target in canada which is a shame since they carry Hello Kitty items - an obsession of mine (and they don't ship to Canada)

AFAIK you do NOT have to wear business casual the whole time. Well, I'm sure Int'l personnel may want to do so, but I don't think collegians are required to.

maybe the business casual was for ritual? (since, depending on your interpretation, that is often acceptable pin attire)

I thought the raffle gift was just for alums, or is it one per chapter? I dunno, i don't seem to know anything. Anyway, if you bring one, its a wrapped present, i think value around $15 (?) that will be raffled off at the foundation dinner. it does not have to be Phi Sig, can be anything you think someone might like.

Philanthropy items - darn I know i read that sheet (my friend showed me hers over the Canada day weekend) I think if you bring some toiletries like toothbrushes, toothpaste, hairbrushes, etc you'd be pretty safe.

Ok ladies, to answer a few questions:

1) No you do not need to wear business casual the whole time. Also the list of appropriate attire is actually more casual then business. From the packet attire may include: walking shorts, capri pants, khakis, dress pants paired with letters, a casual top, a sweater set or a blouse. Shoes or sandels may complete your look.
Thursday is travel casual (jeans and letters/Phi Sig shirt). Friday you will need comfy clothes for the Foundation walk. Business casual for the workshops and a dress, suit or skirt and top for the Foundation dinner (the more casual of the two dinners).
Saturday you will need business casual for the morning workshops and your white outfit for afternoon (Plenary). The ritual session (Alumnae chapter installation) immediately follows Plenary so you will just continue in your whites. Saturday evening is the Awards Banquet which is dressier. You will see everything there from cocktail dresses to to evening gowns.
**As a note on the white shoes there is not a specific requirement that they be closed toe. From experience it's better to see nylon covered toes than excessive cleavage and hootchie club skirts. Also please remember pants are NOT allowed.

2) The raffle gifts are typically brought by alumnae, however they did ask that collegians bring a recruitment shirt, chapter shirt, or Phi Sig items from their campus to donate to the auction. The alum gifts should be wrapped and between $15-20. Gifts usually include things from Bath & Body Works, picture frames, candles/holders, etc.

3) The local service project is for a local childrens hospital. Think toys for young children through teens, toiletries to make their stay more comfortable. Walmart was having their back to school sale so I got a bunch of packs of crayons and markers.

Sorry it's so long, but I hope I answered some questions!
Only one more week!
Tara

I got my packet today!!!

YAY, I'm almost all set!

Also, for all the Canadians still looking for whites, try Smart Set (I'm pretty sure they have stores in the big cities in Ontario). I went there today and was amazed to find that they have a good selection of dressy white dresses, most of which were on sale for < $30.

See you all soon =)

I'm pretty sure sneakers aren't approved. supposed to be dress shoes. and they do have ppl standing at the door checking everyone over.

So, is anyone else on one of the noon shuttle busses? that's what my ground confirmation email said yesterday.

well that's nice that you only have to wait a half hour. I have to wait 1.5, but I'm hoping most that time will be stuck in customs and immigration since i hate waiting.

BTW, I finally found white shoes! I stopped in Payless yesterday, and there was a white pair, with pink trim, for $11! I guess persistence pays. I came close to also buying another white skirt, but decided against even trying them one since I already have one.

We fly in around 10:30am and are on the noon shuttle! We'll find you somewhere I'm sure. I'll be with one of my women from my chapter. It'll be a long day for us as we fly out of MI at 6:40am! And being at the airport early Crazy day the first one will be. Can't wait to see you all there!

$200 + later I finally managed to succeed in getting my stuff for LTS, sorry ladies I won't have any letters to bring with me for teh trading game because our chapter only does sweater letters and I only have one set. I will however be bringing bottles and bottles of the liquid gold known as Pure Ontario Maple Syrup......

Luck for me my flight is only 45 minutes long, seems silly to even be flying such a short way but what can you do! See you all in a couple of days, I will be the extremly broke canuck with the crappy homemade letters on because I think it's probably a little too hot for my sweater this time of year!!
