Makes me think that he isn't actually dead, that they (Jack, Sydney, CIA) faked his death to keep her and the baby (somewhat) a bit safer. Especially when he kept saying that he would find her. It really makes me believe that they faked his death and he just took off, not telling her or anyone where he was going.

Wow...I took this to mean something totally different. As they abducted Sydney, they were using her love and memories of Vaughn to get whatever SD-6 info they were looking for. Vaughn stating he needed to "disappear" (IMHO) was that he needed to leave her thoughts and heart so SD-6 couldn't access whatever they were trying to access through Sydney....
Now...that being said, you can't believe anyone really "dies" on this show...but to see Lena Olin back on the show was a great surprise!!! I love her and her character!!!

Does it make sense if I took it both ways? I definately think that Vaughn isn't dead, but Syd needs to believe that he is. So, I understand the logic of him "disappearing" so that they don't get the correct information.
Loved the scene where he was like "you gave the wrong information". He he. Poor spy mommy, not!!!!
What's stupid. Why the hell did spy mommy go to all the trouble by kidnapping her own daughter and grandchild, when she could have somehow made contact with Syd, come up with a story (if the truth wasn't good enough) to why she needed to know the "code" (whatever) and I'm sure Syd would have told her what she remembered. Instead she went to all the trouble of kidnapping her and now making Jack pissed. Jack is definately gonna want to kill Irina now.
I have to say I loved the scenes with Sloane. It was kind of nice seeing him as a human. Ron did an amazing job showing how much Sydney actually means to him.

All I can say is the following....
OH MY GOD!!!!!!
First off, Brianna is doing a total happy dance!!!!! I love being right about Vaughn. LOL. I had literally just told my sister, Jennie, not 20 minutes before my theory on Vaughn. He he.
I'm so confused when it comes to Irina. Hell, I was before they went on hiatus. I don't get her at all. Obviously her motives make a bit more sense now after her confession to Syd, but still. Ugh.
I'm definately looking forward to seeing Will and Anna again. I love Gina Torres (thanks to Angel and Firefly/Serenity).

My show's back, my show's back, my show's back!
They saved the baby? Didn't expect that one, but now the overwhelming question is WHY? It's probably Rambaldi's fault.
Spy Mommy! Is she good? Is she bad? I don't care, I just love to see her on the screen. I agree that there's more to her than what we're seeing.
Vaughn! Anna! Will!
We thought that one of the police/security guys early in the ep (on phone or intercome) was Drew from Big Brother. Watch it again, it's him.

The entire time I was watching this morning, I kept checking to see where the show "was" when you called me.
I'll admit, I was hoping Vaughn was still alive, but it didn't really register until the last scene
I wish they'd replayed the last episode prior to last night's, just so I could recall what all had gone on (I'm still not clear on all the details! )

Did I miss something? When did Sydney find out that Vaughn was alive?

Nope, you didn't miss a thing. I think it's a big ole retcon, and if it's ever explained it will be a "flashback" that never aired in the first place.

I have a feeling Sydney knew the entire time but "faked" being the grieving "widow" (so to speak).

Wow. What was that? The mantra was "truth takes time", right? So, you mean to tell me that the truth was that Clifford the Big Red ball kills many Russians, but Clifford the Smaller yet Fancier Red ball makes you live forever AND allows you to become Halliburton? That was our 'all wrapped up with a neat bow' for the loyal fans? That was the truth? Nope, I watched for 5 seasons. There's no freaking way *that* was the truth.
Love Marshall even more than I did before the finale. Hi Carrie, nice to see you again. You really do love Marshall, don't you? Made me happy.
Buh-bye Getty with the noble death after stealing valuable storyline from the answers we've been waiting for.
Fred isn't scared of anything, so what was with the snake?
So, Syd 2.0 is actually a good guy and worth liking? Great, wait until the series finale to establish that little plot subpoint. May be enough to make me re-watch S5 for the Rachel stuff. Maybe.
Sarkie lives to be pretty and just wants to win for once. Yeah, sure, whatever.
Whoever wrote the SpyMommy portions of the script should be shot. On sight. Without any Clifford accessories nearby. SpyMommy didn't deserve such utter character assassination. Do the writers think we don't have memories?
Still crying over SpyDaddy. In the end, maybe *that* was the truth? Don't mess with Syd or you have SpyDaddy to deal with, because in the end, SpyDaddy loves his little girl. The last thing he does before he dies (SOB!!!) is to protect Sydney to the best of his ability. DS eloquently stated "At least SpyDaddy went out with a bang!"
So, Uncle Arvin got what he wanted. Eternal Life. Only it's Eternal Life in a prison made out of crushed Rambaldi tomb, courtesy of SpyDaddy. Loved GhostNadia walking out on him. Instant Karma and all that.
Ahh, and here's our happy family in the SpyFam Former Double Agent Protection Program (tm), with Barbie's beach mansion, Uncle Dixon, Baby Jack (who never smiled!) and Isabelle's new puzzle. Fade out to the reality of the final title card. And the tears that started in Mongolia and returned in Hong Kong flowed at will. Damn you JJ, damn you!

I have to admit I was somewhat sad when Tom died. But not much. He was a new character, I really didn't have an invested interest in him.
I bawled when Jack died. I was like "oh he is protecting Sydney".
I thought it was super sweet that Syd and Vaughn named their son Jack. So sweet.
I loved that ghost Nadia walked away from Sloane. Classic.
I hate what they have done with Irina. One minute she is protecting Sydney. The next "supposedly" hiring a contract killer to kill her. The next Syd is saving her life and mom is helping the team take down Sloane. She then helps to deliver her granddaughter, now she wants to kill syd at the same time as saying that she is her mother and cares about her. WTF? Are you frickin' kidding me?
Loved the end with Isabelle playing with the same blocks as Syd did but she broke it down. Loved the symbolism that she obviously won't be following in mom and dad's footsteps (as if they would even let her. lol).
I also liked the flashback of syd telling her dad she was working for credit dauphine. makes sense now, (actually made sense back in season one) why dad was so against it. he knew who sloane really was and what syd was really doing.
all in all i really thought it was a good series finale.

i LOVED the finale! I had just started catching up on the season, and finished it yesterday and I was like "omg omg omg" the entire time!
I love Jack, I seriously do! He seems like the greatest dad, and what he did for her was just so sweet!!!
And Arvin?! HAHAHAHAHA...finally got what's coming to him!
