I'm wondering how long this movie will be. It seems like they will have a WHOLE lot to cover. I mean they have to kill off most of the Jedis, Anakin has to convert, Senator has to become that weird looking Emperor, big fights, and somewhere a love scene so Luke and Leia can be born.
Running time is either 2 hrs 13 minutes or 2hrs 26 minutes ( heard both so far at the theater I work at ) , both of those running times are without previews or commercials.

I was at Celebration III (yes, I am that much of a fangirl...But I did NOT dress up)

I saw the "Rick McCallum Spectacular", footage with no dialogue, but with music (not from the soundtrack)...THE FOOTAGE WAS AWESOME, General Grevious is just so cool. We also got to see some footage from ShoWest, which was pretty nice and a music video from the soundtrack that is out today (woo hoo!)

Needless to say, Mr. McCallum preach throughout the entire weekend that THIS IS THE MOVIE THAT WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR.

I am so trying not to have any expectation so that I won't be disappointed, but I don't think that I will

my only regret is that I will not be seeing this film at midnight on 5/18 12:01 a.m. in a digital theater, it went on sale when i was in indy and sold out very quickly.

If you can PLEASE go see this film in digital, you will not regret it and be blown away

Okay as some might know TV Guide was selling collectors editions for Star Wars last week. So I picked one up and read it.

I'll leave some spoiler space before I continue with my "rant"...

So in the tv guide article it states that Padme dies. Okay question here. How the heck can George Lucas kill Padme in number three when in number 6 Leia specifically states (when asked by Luke) that she barely remembers her mother. That she remembers that her mother was "beautiful but sad". How the hell can Leia recall such vivid details about her mother if they supposedly KILL HER!!!!!!

Someone please explain this to me because I'm at a total loss.

For those who question my authenticity of this please refer to page 29 of the TV guide in question and it states "Most of the Jedi population will die, as does Anakin's secret wife, Padme Amidala. Twins Luke and Leia will be born and seperated"

So I'm totally confused. With this statement it's like GL is completely retracting Leia's statement in number 6.

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I just need it to be May 19th!!!!!! I'm dying here!!!!!! LOL.

Variety liked the movie.

Quote:
Entertaining from start to finish and even enthralling at times, "Sith" has some acting worth writing home about, specifically McDiarmid's dominant turn as the mastermind of the evil empire. McGregor remains a steady presence, and both Portman and Christensen have loosened up since "Clones" to acceptable, if hardly inspired, levels. Expressiveness of the digitally animated Yoda, voiced as always by Frank OzFrank Oz, is amazing.

ASUADPi, maybe it's a red herring? We can only hope.

A 'red herring' is something that draws away from the central issue (thanks to dictionary.com). In this case, it means I'm hoping it's a fake spoiler.

If not, then someone needs to watch his first trilogy and head back to continuity school!

Episodes 4-6 all occur when Leah is an adult. Her memories of her mom predate Episode 4 by at lest 15 years. I don't know how far into the future Episode 3 is from Episode 2, but it is very possible that Leah's early childhood and her mom's death either occur in Epsiode 3, or after it.

Also remember that Epsiodes 4-6 happened in a much shorter time frame than the first two.

Um yeah I know about episodes 4-6, I've seen them all over a dozen times. My question was concerning what TV Guide stated about Padme dying in Episode 3 shortly after the babies are born and the fact that Leia states in episode 6 that she remembers her mother and that her mother was "beautiful, kind but sad". A newborn would have no recollection of their parents, so obviously either someone screwed up when it came to continuity or TV Guide screwed up and quoted wrong.

Also time frame wise, between 1-2 is 10 years, 2-3 is probably a shorter period of time (my guess at most 3 years, I just don't think Padme and Anakin could hide their marriage that long) and then between 3-4 is 20 years. 4-5 and 5-6 are probably at most a 1-3 year gap if even that long.

"Shortly after" can be interpreted different ways. Either Padme dies when Leah is 2-3, or Lucas introduced an anachronism. We'll find out soon enough.

Yeah really. I'm counting down the days until the 18th. And I say the 18th because my brother and I are going to a 12:01 showing of the movie. I know it's technically the 19th but I'll be sitting in the theater on the 18th.

So 11 days away. Thank god!!!!!
