Who are are the people in your neighborhoodIn your neighborhood
 In your neighborhood.......................

There was another song that I think Ernie or Kermit the frog did. I couldn't remember the title or if it was part of the neighborhood song or not. It went something like this:

 I love to sing.......
 Sing in the bathtub (LaLa)
 I (SOMETHING, SOMETHING,SOMETHING, SOMETHING)
 skies so blue
 I love to sing...........

I remember that song....but I think it was Ernie, Oscar, Big Bird, and Olivia who sang the song. I love to sing....sing in the bathtub/shower/bird bath, etc.

				Co-operation ... makes it happen

			Workers:Co-operation ... makes it happen
 Co-operation ... working together
 Dig it!
 Co-operation ... makes it happen
 Co-operation ... working together

 Muppet In Shades:
 I saw these crazy dudes
And they went out on the street
They were cleanin' out the empty lot
 And makin' it neat
I said, "Man is this cool
 What you tryin' to do?"
 They said, "Makin' a garden
 For me and for you."
 They said:

 All:
 Hey man, join us
 Come on, let's go
Together we can make a pretty garden grow

 Girl: I'll dig a hole

Guy: And I'll plant a seed

Together: And we can add the water
 That all growin' things need

 All:
 Co-operation ... makes it happen
 Co-operation ... working together
 Dig it!
 Co-operation ... makes it happen
 Co-operation ... working together

(Scene changes to the front of a building, with 2 other Muppet guys)

 Muppet In Shades:
Now we friends were on the corner
 Hangin' out, I said, "Hey,
You can hang around these garbage cans
 Some other day!"
They said, "Man is this cool
 What you tryin' to do?"
I said, "Make a street garden
 For me and for you!"

I said, "Hey cats, join us,
 Come on, let's go
We'll all co-operate and make a garden grow
 You dig a hole
 And I'll plant a seed
And we will add the water
 That all growing things need!"

Muppet In Shades, and his 2 friends:
 Co-operation ... makes it happen
 Co-operation ... working together
 Dig it!
 Co-operation ... makes it happen
 Co-operation ... working together

(Back to the garden, where the plants have begun to grow)

 Muppet In Shades:
Now we watch our garden grow
And we come back every day
And the people in our neighborhood
 Come 'round and say

 2 Friends:
 "Hey man, this is cool!
Tell us what we can do
To keep this pretty garden here
 For me and for you!"

 Everybody Else:
We all say, "Hey, join us
 Come on, dig the scene
 We'll all co-operate
 And keep our garden green

 Girl: You trim the leaves

Guy: And you pull the weeds

Girl: And I will add the water
 That all growing things need!

 All:
 Co-operation ... makes it happen
 Co-operation ... working together
 Dig it!
 Co-operation ... makes it happen
 Co-operation ... working together

Oscar the Grouch had a song where he sang "Then you're a grouch like me!" That's all I remember, except that one of the sororities sang it for Sing Song one year when I was at Texas. It was a hoot!

The Rubber Duckie Song and (You've Got to) Put Down the Duckie if You Wanna Play Saxophone.
Also, I don't know if anyone remembers the 1987 movie Don't Eat the Pictures where Sesame Street gets locked in the Metropolitan Museum of Art overnight, but that had a bunch of great songs. There's a great number in there when Grover goes to the Arms and Armor Wing, and sees that the suits of armor are all real people and wants to play with them and gets sad that they don't respond.

I Want to be Your Friend-
 Shiny chum, don't be shy
Don't be mum, just say "hi!"
 And we can play together
I want to be your friend.
Let's play ball, let's fly kites
Best of all, let's be knights!
 We'll be so brave together,
I want to be your friend.

We can ride upon our horsies where adventure can be found
Save a dragon from a princess--or the other way around?
We will challenge every villain, in the east and in the west,
And we'll find a baby birdie and return it to its nest.

Through enchanted forests we'll go strolling,
And on Saturdays, we could go bowling!

 Shiny sir, this I feel,
I am fur, you are steel,
But we belong together, faithful 'til the end
Oh I want to be, oh I want to be, oh I want to be
 Your friend.

			Mah na mah na.
(du du, du du du)

Sorry for everyone who's going to be singing this for a week.

I also remember them singing Up Up and Away.

I'm not sure if anyone else who remembers super old school Sesame Street (I'm talking when the original Gordon was still on) agrees with me, but some of those sketches really take on new meaning when you get older. Like maybe Mr. Hooper had some "herbal remedies" for sale at his store.

Well we've touched on 123 45 678 9 10 11 12. What about when they count to ten? I like that one too. Especially when the chef drops all the desserts. I also like "You' Alive" HUh breathe in Hah Breathe out. Cause you alive and that's no jive.

 | I have it too, Sister Havana!!

Anyway, I don't know if anyone remembers this one, but my vote goes to the NO song -- where the girl's head shows up all around town and she's shaking her head and saying "NO NO NO."

eta: just found the lyrics!!! ::aahh the memories::

The Word Is No
Written by Christopher Cerf

No parking
No biking
No swimming
No hiking
No driving too fast or slow

And the word is no (no, no, no, no, no, no, no)
And the word is no (no, no, no, no, no, no, no)
And the word is....

No camping
No cooking
No laughing
No looking
No stopping
No place to go

And the word is no (no, no, no, no, no, no, no)
And the word is no (no, no, no, no, no, no, no)
No!

How can just one word, just two letters
Keep so much from getting done?
We'd be worse off without it
No doubt about it
Stand up and shout it
"No" 's no fun!

No talking
No teasing
No rhyming
No reason
No hiding from "n" and "o"

And the word is no (no, no, no, no, no, no, no)
And the word is no (no, no, no, no, no, no, no)
And the word is no (no, no, no, no, no, no, no)
And the word is no (no, no, no, no, no, no, no)
And the word is no (no, no, no, no, no, no, no)
