I am so sorry for your fathers passing. You were blessed to have him so close when he passed and able to say, 'goodbye'. Please cherish that memory.

This is a favorite of mine. God bless you.

Never Alone
by Rodney Belcher

I think of you in the morning
When at first I awake
Your thought is with me
With each decision I make

You'd been around forever
Since the first breath I took
Now I have to go on alone
But for love, I need not look

Cause by what you bestowed
In our short time together
Will last in my heart
Forever and ever

Although you've left
And now walk above
I'm never alone
I'm wrapped in your love

Enjoy now your long waited reward
Feel peace that your love continues on
What was taught to me, will be taught to mine
Cause you live on in me even after you've gone

Christia,

You have been so brave; please know we are thinking of you. When I read your post, my heart was moved for you and your family. As I think back on the last moments I spent with my mother, I can only wonder what your precious last moments with your father will mean to you in the future as you look back on this time.

I have prayed for you and your family, that Lord would bring you great comfort and peace during a time which can be a muddled mix of emotions. And also, that He might meet whatever practical needs you may be faced with in the coming days and weeks.

Truly, my heart goes out to you during this very difficult time.

.....Kelly

I am sorry for your loss. My father died when I had just turned 19, and it was unexpected (i.e. it was accidental). I can empathize and I hope that you will find comfort in friends, family and loved ones.

Thank you each and every one.

Today we got my father urn back. It is really simple and pretty. It is shaped like a brick and is gray marble. My mom put it on his night stand. I feel so much better knowing he is home. I can now go and talk to his body and soul.

My dad is home and we are happy.

I never knew that urns weighed so much! My dad was 121.5 when he died (he was 5'11 and lost weight do to the cancer) but he weighs about 25-30 pounds now. It kinda shocked me.

ETA: I am findng out what southern hospitality (sp) is. It is amazing that the entire south cries when you do.

Yep, kinda wierd but Southerners love funerals cause we get to eat lots of "REAL" food..the kind Grandma/Ma makes/used to make/wish I could make.

Christia,
After being gone from GC for several days, I just read your post. My heart is truly breaking for you right now and I couldn't help tearing up when I read your posts. I cannot imagine what you are feeling right now but just know that you have so many people everywhere who are keeping you in their thoughts. I will keep you in my prayers and may you find strength in the years of love and memories you had with your father.

Christa,
I just caught this and wanted to offer my condolences as well. I'm touched to hear your story of his passing...."Stand up straight and march into heaven". What a great mental picture!

God Bless,
PsychTau
