"Spend my life with you,"by that guy with the dred locks, who dates Halle Berry. My wife picked out the song, but couldn't get anyone to sing it,I refused to sing at my own wedding.
My sister showed up and sang a song by Patti Labelle,( I think it was my love)and my niece sang Inseperable by Natalie Cole.
Then her niece sang the song from the preacher's wife that Whitney Houston sang.(forgot the name)We almost went to the Pastor's office over these songs.I didn't think it was a big deal but she did,she wanted more songs, and wanted me to sing to her.I'm glad it's over and all memories.
ps.I wanted "Evergreen"

My wife will tell you our song was "spend my life with you"by the guy with the dredlocks.
She wanted me to sing it as she marched in.
My Sister sang that Patti Labelle song from Waiting to exhale. My Niece sang Natalie Cole's "Insaparable",then her Niece sang the song by Whitney houston from the preacher's wife.

I wanted "For All we Know"by the Carpenters
We had a church reception,no dancing. But our first dance would have been "Will you sentence me to be your Lover for Life" by my girl Whitney Houston.

Hey guys,

I am getting married in a few weeks and I need ideas for ceremony songs. I have a preference for classical music but I am open to something a little more modern. I haven't really found anything in this thread that piqued my interest so I can really use some help. Oh if anyone knows of a site where I could hear sound bites of these songs as well, I would greatly appreciate it.

Darling1,

I've decided to use some Kenny G selections. "Forever In Love" for prelude, "Sentimental" for the procession, and "The Wedding Song" for my entrance as opposed to the traditional classical music. They can be found on the "Breathless" cd.

I contacted my former band teacher about getting a band student or two to play the sax, but my wedding falls at a bad time for some people (Memorial Day weekend). So, my organist is going at it alone, but he told me in church yesterday he already has it down!

Good luck!

My big day is August 11.

The songs I have decided on are:
"So Amazing" Luther Vandross
"Whenever, Wherever, Whatever" Maxwell
Both of those will be played on cello and violin

"You" Jesse Powell (I'm walking down the aisle to this one)
"Inseperable" Natalie Cole
these will be solos

It took me a while to decide on these. I swear everytime I hear something I think how great it would be in the wedding. I had a harder time picking music than I did my dress!!

Some other songs that I considered were:
Fortunate- Maxwell
Always and Forever- Heatwave
Here and Now- Luther
Ribbon in the Sky- Stevie Wonder/Intro

Pretty is as Pretty does...and I do it all the time.

Lightbulb Wedding Songs

For me, it would be "My Latest, My Greatest Inspiration" by Teddy Pendergrass. Yes, I know I took it back, but I've always liked that song and thought it was very pretty. I guess that when I heard it again in "The Wood," it brought it to mind again.

I actually changed my songs for my wedding (big shock). My attendants came in on "Ribbon in the Sky", I came down the aisle to "The Wedding Song" by Kenny G, and we were serenaded by Natalie Cole's "Inseperable", and "The Lord's Prayer." I had so much fun at my wedding. The old school R&B band made the reception memorable.
