Talking

I deserve a study break so let me chime in.

I'm loving Sade's new CD. I only have some songs on MP3. My beau is testing my patience to buy it. Never ask a man to get something you want quickly. Anyway, she's got some typical stuff but I haven't heard much with her usual slow sad style. She's got that I'm having a bad day flow. But definately check out #1,#4,#6,#11.

I do love Jill Scott, Amel L. is the bomb. I like Monica better. She just sounds better to me. R. Kelly just looks fine. But i'm definately not feeling his new rap kick. He's reinvented himself more than the Vice President. I'm feeling some Soulquarian stuff. My girl is a nut for those quarians. Christina is way better than Brittany. I would buy the Maxwell rendition of Mary Had a little Lamb. By the way, what is Prince up to? Anything new on the way?

From what I heard she didn't even know that she was being replaced! Another Destiny's Child type drama! Dawn should probably go solo anyway. She has a nice voice and she has her own unique style.

Is anyone else here old enough to remember Art Of Noise's Moments in Love? How about Luther's Superstar? That was THE BOMB BABY!

I LOVE that song. That's the kind of song you play when having a romantic interlude LOL. It was out of print for a few years, but it's available now.

You'd be shocked to know my age, and know that I remember Art of Noise's "Moments in Love". I used to love that song!!! I just thought about it the other day, and it's still one of my favorites! I also remember Superstar, but I have the greatest hits of Luther Vandross...such a classic. The other day, I had to go buy Bobby Brown's Don't Be Cruel, an "oldie" but a goodie (before he got with Whitney, and they became the Crackhead couple of the year). I'm dying to find the old Anita Baker, her first album...I always loved that. I guess I'm an "old soul".

Dawn should go solo...She and Terri were my two favorite members of En Vogue.

Her voice is strong enough to do so...it is very recognizeable. I wonder what happened?
Maybe it was a "cat" fight that went on? I always wondered about Rapheal Saddiq....mmmmmmm

I remember Moments in Love... what about that other song they had...I can't remember the name, but they had this little girl in it with them and they were doing this WEIRD stuff with metal and instruments...

When is Anita gonna come out with something new? We ain't heard from her since 93 or 94...she must be doing that Sade thang. lol

I'm with you on Luther, but I have to say that the Art of Noise was just that, noise. They played that song tooooooo much on the quiet storm, Every prom theme was "Moments in Love" for years after that. It made me want to vomit after a while. lol. I can still hear it ringing in my head....dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun (sound of the music)... then repeat... why did you do this to me..... Make it stop.

Let me just tell yall about Moments in Love. That is one of my favorite songs of all time!! I have been searching for the remix cd for like a year, out of print everywhere. Even the Record Exchange didn't have it. I finally found them on Napster. As much as I'm against burning cd's, what else can I do??? I am getting those remixes!!!!!!! And what is this about Lucy Pearl??? I was really diggin that group! I like the male/female group thing. There's a new one out, I have no idea the name of the song or group, but I saw the video, and I liked it!! And I'm just gonna say one more time: I LOVE MY MUSIQ CD!!!!!!!! Lawdhamercy!!! I love it!! Ok, I'm done, now!

Girrrll!! I know you ain't trying to steal my men..we gon' have to fight up in here! (taking off my earrings) LOL!! Just playing with you girl, you know I luuvv ya!!

*kitten03* Oh, the last thing I heard that Prince had come out with was the album with "The Greatest Romance" which I own. It didn't get much love though, I heard he only sold like 800,000 copies or something like that.

I know I'm going way back with this one, but does anyone else own that Tracy Spencer album besides me? (the one with "still in my heart")

Thumbs up

Ok, I had to pull this back up because I am LOVING this new India Irie (sp?) song. I have refrained for a couple of weeks from bringing it up, because they weren't playing it on the radio too much. But now I think it's getting much play. I love the music and the message. "I'm not the average girl in your video and I'm not built like a supermodel, but I love to love myself unconditionally because I am a queen." I love it. Is anybody feeling me??? I have GOT to find out when this CD is coming out.

Monique, my student told me her name is India Arie and she is on NAPSTER I like the song you mentioned as well. Nice positive message. I am so glad we are getting this funky soul music in circulation because for a minute I thought we were losing some talent.

I mmust agree that Jill Scott's CD is blazin'. But have you seen the girl perform live? its better than the CD. In Decemebr I saw her and Musiq together in Philly, and she was phenomenal (Musiq was OK but sound was terrible--it was too loud) Sunday, my husband and I are going to see Ms. Badu and Musiq (again--hopefully he'll sound better)

Those 2 stay in my CD player!

convinced,

i think you are referring to charlie wilson from the gap band. (i think thats his name, but he's definately from the gap band.)

i think aaron hall sounds a little him, too.
