Part of me thinks that it slipped and she should know better than to say something like that and the history behind the word. It still gets me that she doesn't see what she did wrong but everyone else can see that she shouldn't have said it, even Brad. I don't know about the rest of the season, this will probably be a lingering issue.
i heard about this mess from another site. man, people always think it's cool to say shit like that. what a dumbass.

I hope I don't offend anyone with this ... but I was laughing so hard when Frankie said she was afraid of big boats. That is a strange anxiety disorder that I have never ever heard of before.

I think she's another Candace from the first Sorority Life -- she doesn't wash off her make up. It looks like she applies mascara on top of old mascara over and over again. When they show her at night with her face somewhat free of make up, the caked on mascara is still there.

I think "Boom! Bazooka Joe!" is my new favorite random phrase.

I usually don't watch MTV because the only "music" is background for the reality shows unless you have MTV2... but that's a whole other issue.

I'm only watching this season because I know Jamie and I want to see how her personality is on the show vs. real life. We aren't really buddy-buddy or anything (she lived with my lil sis for a while, everyone knows she's a Kappa and she hangs out with some of my good friends, we've hung out once or twice), but I know she's a really cool, very sweet and down-to-earth girl... and she kicked my chapter's butt during sports week the past few years! She can party, so I'm sure MTV will make her look like the usual "sorority/party girl" but in reality, she's a good person. I just hope they don't capitalize too much on any drama she may or may not get into.

Season looks like any other though... hooking up, phobias, fighting, race arguments... with some buzzworthy music in the background.

This season does look alot like the Vegas one and I thought it was interesting that even the 2 underage girls in the house were drinking at the club when they went out on the show tonite. Now how is that one possible and why would MTV be glorifing underage drinking???! hmm I understand them showing it happening in the house, but out in public thats another story.

I felt bad for Frankie, MTV set that one up nice for added drama, I like Brad better after watching last night's show, liked when he stood up for Jacquese and when he was like if this house is getting cliquish that just needs to stop even though he is part of the clique.

I can't believe that Robin didn't realize what she did that was so offensive. I am from the South also (North Carolina) and luckily didn't hear this word growing up and barely hear it now but it is wrong no matter who you are. It's just a deragatory word, has a bad background. She does seem to have some underlying issues BUT she should not have said it esp. since she just met Jaques .

(Why do people use the word anyways? don't understand it!)

Mad props to Brad who understand that you just don't use that word. Major respect for him. He's really does seem like a cool guy.

Camerin: not sure what to make of her yet..

Frankie: it's entirely possible to have anxiety attacks for even the smallest things...Hopefully, everyone will try to be there for her.

This season is definitely looking better than Paris!

OMG Robin's boobs!! Those things each need their own zip code. I would have been scared if I would be at Coyote Ugly and she was dancing on the bar with one of those over my head.

Boats!!! AAAAAGGGHHHH!!!!!!!! Freaky disorder, although when you look at the "weird habits" thread some of us don't have room to talk.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Hubby and I were thinking the same thing! How on earth that little tube top stayed on was beyond me. And hubby commented on how it must be getting cold in San Diego as someone was a "titty bit nipply"

Now now, don't make fun. I didn't see the episode, but boats have a tendency to freak me out too. Especially where the hull meets the water. Aye!

Thumbs down

It kills me that Robin was trying to rationalize her actions by saying "but I said 'a' not 'er'!"

Just as a heads up to all you GC'ers: NO MATTER HOW COOL YOU THINK YOU ARE WITH YOUR BLACK FRIENDS, DO NOT USE THIS "LOGIC". DON'T USE THE N-BOMB UNLESS YOU'RE IN A CLASSROOM DISCUSSION.

To help understand this consider the parallel of your mom. It's one thing for you to talk about her crazy habits, but if someone else does it it's offensive. Just b/c rappers use it, doesn't mean that you can do it.

That being said.......it's better than Paris already!

Personally, I believe we all need to alleviate the n-word out of our vocabulary, whether you're Black, White, Asian, Latino, etc. It is not appropriate, in any pronunciation form, from any race.
