Back when I was a new member we rec'd a t-shirt, a metal bid day bucket, picture frame with a note, note pad, pen, and, and the rest of the bucket was filled with candy.
This past year's bid day stuff at the chapter I advise was super cute, the did a whole Tiffany's related theme with Theta and Co. t-shirts, so in addition to that the new members rec'd little jewelery boxes, ring pops, emory boards, and a few other little things.

From sorors:
A jacket, t-shirt, keychains, magnets, pillowcase, a blue and gold heart shaped box with my #2 on it, pens, pencils, license plate frame, paddles, a cup, and a single long stem yellow rose (and I STILL have the dried bud!)

From friends:
a car flag, mousepad, afghan, poodles, t-shirts, license plate, umbrella, and an engraved Bible (from my freshman year roommate who's an AKA)

My absolute favorite new member gift was my first set of letters. Boy, I *loved* that sweatshirt and I was so proud of it!

I got lots of stuff!!! I had a glass vase, enough cups to fill a new kitchen, a sweatshirt, a poster for my door, and my favorite new member gift, a glass pin box in the shape of a heart. I still use it.

Mine, too! I wore mine home the day after Bid Day to show my parents...I was so proud! It's still one of my favorite letter shirts--it's white, with pink and green satin letters.

On Bid Day, I also got a black tote bag with black and white gingham DZ letters, my DZ pledge book, a DZ note pad with a turtle on it, a DZ pen, and a little button that said "I love DZ" on it. We also got "door decs" in the shape of turtles, with our names on them...some actives went and hung them up outside our dorm rooms while we were at our Bid Day party.
