Depending on your complexion, a really pale blush pink might look nice as an accent too. It depends on the textures of the fabric.

I'm not really sure how pale pink would look? I've never really tried it before, except my pale pink swimsuit, but that's got bananas all over it so it's not a very good item to judge by!

I want a fabric that is really movable. I'd possibly like to do a low cut back.

Ok, how grateful am I to BrownEyedGirl for posting all those dresses and such. I have been searching relentlessy for the right Pref dress (and third round dress for that matter) for weeks. That pink one with the gold sash is supercute. So anyway, my thanks to you!!

I have a question:
when pnm's go through formal do they ususally buy a white dress before they start or after they know what house they got incase that house does black? i'm totally curious about this. We only have informal so it was a different story...

Oh, man, that pink black and ivory dress would look so good on me. Definitely my favorite.

But don't forget, ladies, it really isn't all about what you're wearing. As someone mentioned earlier, recruitment is similar to a job interview in that you should put your best foot forward. However, the ideal sisterhood for you is one where someone can see you sleep-deprived, pajama-clad, heartbroken, sick as a dog, or just plain uninterested in fashion for the moment and still know that you are a person (and a sister) worth befriending. So don't focus too much on wearing something "so perfect" that you'll get the "top" sorority. The best sorority is the one who will let you wear what you like and do what you feel. Back to your regularly scheduled thread... [/hijack]

This is something I'm sure of. My friend is a Gamma Phi at my school. She went to EVERY round of rush in jeans and her recruitment tshirt. Except Pref. For Pref, she wore khakis and a polo shirt.
That's why I'm not really THAT worried about being so dressed up. Bowling Green is WAY casual.

But by all means, ladies, shop away! Hook me up with some links!

Sarah being a member of one of the chapters (Alpha Xi Delta) at a school only 20 miles away I love the dress but not recomend wearing it to pref. Our rush at the univerity of toledo is the week before classes start and we typically ask the pnm's to wear cocktail dresses to pref. All seven of the chapters at toledo (it's a 5-2 split black to white) wear either all black or white dresses with nylons and closed toed shoes (yes I know this is in the middle of August, it is hot and I have seen the nylon thread and I do think the all black looks much better than the all white...but thats a whole different thing). I think all of the pnms attending our pref party last year wore black dresses along with any other pnm I saw... remember our rush is well before labor day and we still don't wear white... As far as I know, since BG is so close to us, that's the regional demographics, I really would ask a Rho Gamma** she would be your best bet. (**we can no longer call our Rho Chi's that so it's evolved into Rho Gammas, some big issue with a pharmacy group)
Sarah

Sorry I forgot to sum it all up, I'd go with a no one the white for sure and I'd stick to darker or more muted colors, let your natural beauty shine alnog with you which is what we really want to see that last day!

I have found a new dress.
It's a v-neck, so I'll need to find a cover up of some sort ( I have a tattoo that I don't want all hanging out at pref). Anyway, it's black with big pretty purple flowers all over it. the left side is knee length, and the right is slightly below mid calf length and ruffle-y. It's really nice and I think it'll be appropriate.

I advise for one of the most casual schools as far as fashion for recruitment goes...and though I like your choice of a dress, something dressier would be more appropriate even our recruitment.

Nordstrom.com in the juniors section had some really cute and relatively inexpensive dresses that would be great.

OMG No WONDER it's been so full lately. Every five minutes I'm getting a new email, I couldn't figure out why.

I didn't know it saved all my sent items as well. GEEZ.
