The main songs/chants that we did...

With a P, with a P, with a P-H-I, etc.
Linger
Sisters

I am embarrassed to say that I can't remember the names of the other main songs we sang. I am sitting here humming them as I am typing but I can't remember titles!!

We have the lyrics for linger but I don't know how it should actually sound! Also, what are the lyrics for "sisters"?

Sisters are the chains that allow me to be free
Sisters are the mirrors that let me see me
They are half of my heart, they are worth far more than gold
They are kind, they are true; they're my Sisters in Phi Mu

Though miles may come between us,
Though our paths may drift apart,
We've got our bond between us
that keeps us Sisters at heart

Sisters are the friends that are with me when I'm sad
Sisters are the laughter that makes me feel so glad
They are half of my heart, they are worth far more than gold
They are kind, they are true; they're my Sisters in Phi Mu

A favorite of my chapter, though we prefer a slower tempo (not the upbeat one on the infamous CD).

				Another Song...

I'm from a chapter that had really low numbers (Beta Mu-PSU) and we re-colonized. One of the chapter consultants came and gave us a really cool song! Let me say we used to have about 16 when I was a sophmore/junior and after the re-colonization (merger) we have done really well for recruitment....We actually had most of the girls this past fall all choose us as their #1 choice!!! If we get 25 girls in the fall (like we are hoping for) we will have about 74 women and campus total is either 80 or 85 so, we're almost there!!!! One of the songs we sang went like this:

Hip-Hop,
Phi Mus rock....
Let me hear that left foot drop (or) let me see that booty drop
I said,
BOOM!-Shake it out-Shake it out
BOOM-BOOM
Shake it out-Shake it out!!!

Wish the Beta Mu chapter luck this coming fall because we have so many great women that are making our chapter become bigger and better on campus!!!

As for cheers...we use "With a P", "Badoom badoom", "Are you a Phi Mu", and a brand-new one (to my pledge class, anyway) that's been really hard to learn for recruitment called "I will be T-R-U-E" (I think). It goes:

I will be T-R-U-E true to P-H-I-M-U Phi Mu
And I will L-O-V-E love her just as you will D-O do
And if you want F-U-N fun she is the O-N-E the one...!
And you will find your jolly times have B-E-G-U-N begun!

Anyone else do that one?

We love doing that song! We always sing it 3 times through, and get faster each time, which is hilarious because people start getting letters mixed up, and on the last run we just scream the words instead of singing. It's such a fun song!

				Phi Mu Song Lyrics

For everyone looking for Phi Mu songs. I am an alum and was reading some of your posts and was trying to remember the words to some of the songs ya'll are referring to, so I googled "Phi Mu Castle" and found a website with a bunch of lyrics to Phi Mu songs and even some being sung that you can copy. Don't care too much for the voice singing them but at least you can hear the tune. The link is http://uwrf.edu/phimu/songs.htm
I was a Phi Mu 1979-82 and we sang lots of these including Phi Mu Castle, which was always my favorite. Good Luck!

At Zeta Sigma we do (or did through 2004) True as well! It was always a favorite because it does take a lot of work and coordination... especially if you step up the speed and add clapping like we did for all campus events (Homecoming/Winter Carnival/Greek Week Lip Sync events). Though, instead of jolly times, we used happy times. Also, we would add the "Rack 'em up, Stack 'em up, Phi Mu" at the end for some events.

Hello ladies! I'm the historian for Gamma Mu chapter at WCU. I'm making our recruitment slideshow and having difficulty finding music to accompany. The only "modern" Phi Mu song I could find is the Phi Mu rap by DJ $crilla. I'm looking for the parody "Phi Mu Girl" similar to Jessica Simpson's "With You". Does anyone know where I can download this, and/or similar songs? I appreciate it!

Here you'll find great sisterhood
You'll find the friends you thought you would
SO GO PHI MU YOU KNOW YOU SHOULD
You know you'll love phi mu!!

Does anyone use "Give me a shield of gold and rose and white..."? That's a pretty cute one if everyone can get it together on the Boom boom boom booms!

Give me a shield of gold and rose and white
Give me three stars to wish on every night
Give me a bond of love and sisters true
Then what do you have?
Dear old Phi Mu!
Boom boom boom boom
P-H-I-P-H-I-M-U
Boom boom boom boom
P-H-I-P-H-I-M-U
Boom boom boom boom
P-H-I-P-H-I-M-U
Then what do you have?
Dear old Phi Mu!

It's very fast. I supposed if you slowed it down and found a more solemn replacement for the booms you could make it more serious. It's great for recruitment. So is: La-Di-Da!

ETA: you could hum instead of "boom" for a slow version.
