uhhhhhhh? White?!!?!!?

For what? A precaution?

Thanks for the info. I'll pass it along.

White dress???

I dunno, but when I asked her if I would need one for any reason she said to pack it as a precaution (maybe she's just "old school")?

I'll be there!

Good afternoon Sorors:

As a newly initiated member (2 months, 19 days, 4 hours, 5 minutes), I will definitely be in Vegas. I am excited about attending my first Leadership Seminar!

I have yet to receive any confirmation of activities, although all my fees have been paid. Any other sorors experience this?

Soror Choo-Choo, thanks so much for letting us know about the white attire. I certainly was not planning on bringing it. Now I will, because I certainly do not want to be out of order.

I plan on being at the "other" gathering ... will anyone from GC be there as well? If not, has a GC event been planned?

Did anyone read about anything "special" going on? This is when "special attire" should be worn. I'm not going to wear the white attire JUST because. Tell somebody somethin' Packing excra clothing, shoes, accessories is not a good idea, especially if you are flying. LOL

Soror PNC, you may want to make a phone call, too. I received my info whenever I posted. Scroll up or down.

It seems like July 11th is not a good day for SOME sorors. Maybe lunch after one of the sessions, perhaps that "big one"?

Re: Re: White dress???

Thanks Soror!

You know I have had to make several calls already, so one more won't hurt!

LOL...

I plan on being at the other gathering as well. The white dress I have I cannot presently fit. Where are some good places to look? I usually see white dresses during spring time. I haven't seen many lately.

Re: Re: I'll be there!

I would say the following places (all of which should have on-line stores as well):

1) Sears
2) Hecht's
3) Nordstrom's
4) Avenue
5) JC Penny

A little Vegas advice

Pardon me for butting in on your thread!
I'm a Vegas fanatic. Been there many times (and yes, got married there)

You all are going to have fun!
1. flight....try to get a window seat on the right side of the plane...ain't nothing like seeing the strip as you land!

2. Stop by Walgreen's on the strip next to MGM and stock up on bottled water....the tap water SUCKS in Vegas!

3. Wear comfy shoes. There is a long distance between hotels and at 100+ degrees...you might be hating it!
4. If you are staying at Bally's, Paris or Aladdin, try to get on a high floor facing the Bellagio. The dancing fountains are to die for.
5. There is a mall on the strip near Treasure Island called the Fashion Show Mall. It is huge and just put a new Nordstrom there.
6. The Forum Shops at Caesar's are to die for!

If you are there on Sunday, try a champagne brunch buffet.
or The Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay. (I think they still have it)

7. Try to rent a car. Most hotels do NOT have shuttles going to malls! Vegas is VERY easy to drive around....

And you MUST drive up the strip at night!
8. If you are not renting a car, take the shuttle or limo from the airport. LVL (Las Vegas Limos) charges $4.50 per person (plus tip)

Cheaper than a cab (who will try to shaft ya)

Speaking of tips, have plenty of $1 bills for tipping. 80% of Las Vegas residents are in the service industry.

If ya want info on places where to eat and where NOT to eat, I can tell you that too!

If I am intruding, I apologize.

Thanks
Buffets NOT to eat at:
Circus Circus
Excalibur
Holiday Inn Boardwalk

There are many ways to get great rates on hotels. i always check the Vegas message board for deals.

Also when you get there, look for the WHERE Magazine or the local Vegas mags....many 2 for 1 deals!

I am aching for a Vegas trip but I have to wait till October....going for a wedding

Thanks for the info!

I'm staying at the Hilton Grand Vacations Club at the Flamingo Hilton. It's about a block or two away from Paris.

Wednesday evening sounds best. Why don't we meet in the Paris lounge?

A spa sounds great. I could definitely use one!!

Wednesday night

Wednesday night would be perfect. Let's do it. I could really use a spa treatment, too. How about 7:00 pm? Is there anything going on that night?

Wednesday night sounds good.

ETA: We're still driving. Hopefully we arrive Wednesday afternoon. How about Thursday outlets?

Posting again: any Sorors to see "O" ?

I got my registration confirmation today.
I have changed my mind about the "other" gathering, I'm not going now.
What are the details of the GC gathering?
Also....I'm asking again, are any Sorors planning to see Cirque du Soleil's "O"?

I didn't plan on seeing "O", I really want to see Gladys again. Are any Sorors going to see her show? The show is all that. What about Celine?
