Question: Why would you bring your son to the show, if you think he's going to get shot.
I'm not a parent, but I thought that was common sense.

Ice Cube Disses Jesse Jackson, Samuel Jackson
Ice Cube is mad as hell and ain't gonna take it no more...In recent days he's returned to the studio to put the finishing touches on the up coming Westside Connection album. On a song called 'Lights Out', which is featured on a soundtrack called 'Ghetto, Gutta and Gansta' Cube takes swipes at actor Samuel Jackson and Reverend Jesse Jackson. Cube was responding to remarks that Samuel Jackson made a while back where he said he no longer wanted to star in movies featuring rappers unless it was Will Smith. Jackson got his start by appearing in Public Enemy's 'Night of the Living Bassheads' video. Since those controversial remarks were made rappers like Queen Latifah have been nominated for Oscar and Golden Globe awards, Mos Def was nominated for a Tony Award, Eminem received rave reviews for 8 Mile and was also nominated for an Oscar. Jackson who appeared in several movies last year including XXX and Changing Lanes got no nods whatsoever... Maybe he may want to reconsider his remarks. Cube saved his harshest remarks for Reverend Jesse Jackson who advocated a boycott of the movie 'Barbershop' for the comedic remarks fellow cast members made about Civil Rights leader Rosa Parks. In the song Cube tells Jesse to pay his child support and keep a rubber on next time he gets busy.

1. Did Samuel forget that Eve, who is a rapper, was also in the movie XXX??? WTH is he talking about???
2. LOL @Cube telling Jesse to pay child support. Ha Ha Ha!!!!

HBO countersues 'Sopranos' star Gandolfini for $100M
By Gary Levin, USA TODAY
HBO fired back at James Gandolfini with a $100 million countersuit Tuesday over the Sopranos star's refusal to return to work for a fifth season of the acclaimed Mob drama.
James Gandolfini called HBO a "great place to work" as he accepted a Screen Actors Guild award on Sunday.
By Mike Blake, Reuters
The network also notified his co-stars Tuesday that they won't be paid until show production — scheduled for March 24 — resumes.
"We sued him for the enormous loss that will result if The Sopranos goes down the drain," says HBO attorney Bert Fields. HBO asked a judge to prevent the actor from working elsewhere.
Gandolfini sued HBO Thursday in California Superior Court to exit a contract that extends for two more seasons. He claimed HBO didn't meet a deadline to exercise an option for a new season and said California law prohibits any contract for more than seven years. HBO said the network properly exercised the option and noted that the contract applies to New York law, where HBO, the series and Gandolfini are based. A fifth season falls within the seven-year frame because the series began production in 1998.
Gandolfini's lawyer didn't return calls, but has said HBO, which has sold $75 million in Sopranos DVDs, is short-changing the star. He made about $4 million last season and was offered more than $8 million to return, although no raise was due.
Gandolfini was conciliatory at Sunday's Screen Actors Guild awards, calling HBO "a great place to work" and showing up at its party. But HBO chairman Chris Albrecht says the series' future is in jeopardy unless Gandolfini drops his suit and returns to work with no raise. "We would certainly prefer to have the show, but not at the cost of being blackmailed, and not at the risk of creating a situation where anybody that wanted something from us could file a lawsuit," Albrecht says.

Ross Drives Off with Another Citation
Wed Mar 12, 3:20 PM ET Add Entertainment - E! Online to My Yahoo!
By Julie Keller
By now, you'd think Diana Ross would just stop driving and hire a chauffeur.
Less than three months after her embarrassing DUI arrest in Arizona, everyone's favorite diva has been involved in another, albeit much more minor, automobile mishap.
This time the lady was singing the blues after getting pulled over Sunday in Greenwich, Connecticut, for driving an unregistered car.
Ross, who has a home in the town, was flagged down after an eagle-eyed cop noticed she was driving a black Ford Taurus (yes, Ford Taurus) with an expired license plate. She tried to get out of the ticket, claiming she doesn't often drive the car because it is owned by her booking agency in Los Angeles, but the boys in blue weren't buying it.
The 58-year-old entertainer was stuck with a ticket and a $78 fine. Her publicist, Paul Bloch, could not immediately be reached for comment.
Her fans, who have remained loyal to the singer-actress through years of bizarre antics and tantrums, are still keeping the faith, however.
"This woman is a legend....you think she's gonna sweat 78 bucks? Please. Those stupid cops just did that so they could have something to tell the press about," defended one Ross lover on a Yahoo message board. "I'm sure they got paid off."
"Stop the presses--her registration expired," scoffed another fan. "I guess it's a slow news day."
The media attention to this latest ticket isn't completely unfounded. This is the second time in less than 90 days that the supreme Supreme has faced heat for poor behind-the-wheel performance. She was pulled over in December in Tucson, Arizona, after police spotted her driving erratically through the city's streets in the wee hours of the morning. She utterly botched various field sobriety tests and blew a 0.20 percent blood-alcohol level.
At the time, she was ticketed for three misdemeanors: driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol content over 0.08 and "extreme DUI" for having a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.15 percent.
Ross didn't appear for her January arraignment in Arizona. Instead, her legal team filed a "notice of appearance" claim and pleaded innocent on her behalf on all three charges.
Ross is due in court Wednesday in Tucson to stand trial for the DUI charges. Let's hope she doesn't drive herself.

Rock Gets Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
1 hour, 1 minute ago
LOS ANGELES - Chris Rock (news), whose edgy humor propelled him from standup comic to movie star, now has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
"I think I'm as qualified to walk over as anybody else," Rock joked Wednesday before a crowd of about 300 people that included actor David Spade (news), his former "Saturday Night Live (news - Y! TV)" colleague.
The 37-year-old star of "The Chris Rock Show," which aired for four seasons on HBO, combined humble thanks with some of his trademark humor in remarks at the ceremony along Hollywood Boulevard.
Rock has been featured in several films, including "Dogma," "Down to Earth" and "Bad Company." He's directing for the first time with "Head of State," in which he also stars as a presidential candidate. The movie opens March 28.

BACK TOGETHER AGAIN: ... In the studio, that is. Let's not get it twisted.
(Mar. 12, 2003) *Well look who hooked up again, and if the stars are aligned properly, history will repeat itself.
Yep, Puffy and Mary J. Blige are currently in the studio with Diddy executive producing her new project. It's the first time they've worked together since My Life.
Yes, we know you just can't wait to find out when will this reunion will bear fruit and what's it gonna be called.
The title is Love And Life and will be out this summer. We're told that Mary is also doing a couple of tracks with Dr. Dre, too. (Smart move, Mary.)
Check this out, just for fun, Mary redid "In Tha Club," but her version is called "Hooked" and P. Diddy raps on it.
But, it won't be on Love And Life, though; it's for promotional purposes only.

More on Diddy . . .
From mtv.com:
Most rappers are content to endorse soft drinks or alcohol. But not the ever entrepreneurial P. Diddy. In his never-ending quest to be the king of all media, Puff has announced plans to launch a line of branded alcoholic beverages called Diddy Drinks, according to his spokesperson.
There's no firm date for the debut of the Drinks — based on fruity concoctions the hip-hop mogul mixes at his legendary parties — but in an interview that ran on Sunday in the London Sunday Telegraph, Diddy said, "I'm not just a talker," in response to a question on whether he was serious about the plan.
Diddy is also serious about branching out musically with an upcoming dance album. The LP will feature production from some of the world's premier techno studio wizards, his spokesperson said.
The hush-hush album, which doesn't have a title or release date yet, will include tracks produced by Deep Dish, Felix Da Housecat and famed Soul II Soul leader Nellee Hooper (Björk, Madonna). The rapper will premiere the album's first single — a duet with singer Kelis — at the DanceStar American Dance Music Awards on March 19.
The duo will perform the song "Let's Get Ill" live on the sandy beaches of Miami Beach during the second annual all-star techno/dance event, which will also feature performances from Dirty Vegas, DJ Sammy and Paul Oakenfold.
Diddy is also planning to expand his empire in other ways. In addition to his Bad Boy label, Blue Flame marketing firm, Sean John clothing line — which he's looking to bring to England — and Justin's soul food restaurants in New York and Atlanta, the rapper wants to open two more Justin's in Detroit and Miami in the near future. Additionally, he's thinking about launching a still-unnamed nightclub in Miami and a chain of boutique hotels.
Giving his ex J. Lo a run for her money, Diddy, who had a role in 2001's Oscar-winning "Monster's Ball," is also expected to announce his next film project this week. His spokesperson had no information on the movie at press time.

RIP Lynne Thigpen
'District' Actress Thigpen Dies
Thu, Mar 13, 2003 11:50 AM PDT
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Lynne Thigpen, a Tony Award
winner who co-starred in CBS' drama "The District,"
died suddenly Wednesday night at her Los Angeles home.
She was 54.
A cause of death hasn't been determined yet.
"As a person, Lynne possessed an incredible dignity,
intelligence and wisdom that informed all of her
performances," says Denise Di Novi, an executive
producer of "The District." "She elevated anything she
was involved with, and we were blessed to have her as
a part of our family."
Thigpen played Ella Farmer, a statistics clerk who
helps Washington, D.C., Police Chief Jack Mannion
(Craig T. Nelson) track incidents and hold the
department accountable for the city's crime rate.
Nelson calls her "a wonderful actress and a friend."
Born in Joliet, Ill., Thigpen first appeared on screen
in the 1973 movie version of the musical "Godspell."
Her long list of TV and movie credits includes "L.A.
Law," "thirtysomething," "Bob Roberts," "The Paper"
and the PBS kids' series "Where in the World Is Carmen
Sandiego?"
She was also an accomplished theater actress, winning
a Tony in 1997 for her role in Wendy Wasserstein's
play "An American Daughter." Thigpen won two Obie
Awards for her off-Broadway work and an L.A. Drama
Critics Award.
Production on "The District" has been suspended.

Me too. I also remember her as the backstabbing parent from the movie Lean On Me. She used to play those roles.
God bless her and her family.
