in St. Elmo's Fire the 4 guys were in the same fraternity. If you look closely in the first couple scenes that Rob Lowe is in you can see him wearing a sweatshirt with letters on it under his coat (you can see delta sigma). His character also goes back to the fraternity at some point in the movie when he's trying to figure out his life.

I just saw Sorority Boys for the first time this weekend. While the movie overall isn't particularly great, it has it's moments. I love how all the KOK alums are "Animal House" veterans.
The dirty little bro that backdoors "Adena" reminds me waaay too much of one of my brothers...way shady.
And who can forget the "walk of shame" and "dogcatcher"? As horrible as they are, i still get a kick out of them.
Kitso
KS 361 times i laughed at a sorority with the letters DOG

And then there's the lifetime movie original "Dying To Belong" with Jenna Von Oy (From Blossom). It's a sorority hazing movie that we have to thank for perpetuating many stereotypes.

I watched this movie with my grandmother, who never went to school beyond the 8th grade. She thought that everyone was hazed on college campuses after that movie, and would call me at school to ask if the horrible mean older girls were beating me or my boyfriend up... Bless her heart!

Old School
Just read about a new movie coming out that is greek-related.
Movie is entitle "Old School" and is supposed to be a comedy about '3 disillusioned friends trying to capture the glory of their college days by starting an off-campus fraternity that is not bound by the rules and regulations of normal frat houses'. Stars Luke Wilson, Will Farrell, Vince Vaughn.
Supposedly will be out in the next 2-3 months

The new movie, Drumline, has some Greek Life scenes.

I just watched a movie last night called "Pumpkin" with Christina Ricci where she plays an Alpha Omega Pi. It wasn't that great of a movie.

There is a movie made in 1989 called "Heart of Dixie". It stars Allie Sheedy, and most of her friends are in her sorority and fraternities. It's been on Encore alot lately. There is also a movie called Breaking Away that was filmed at the University of Indiana and Bloomington. It was made in 1979, but has alot of greek stuff in it.
I also just recently watched Mr. and Mrs. Bridge. One of their daughters is a Kappa in the movie. She comes home from school to tell her mom she's engaged, and she has a Kappa Key on her sweater. She also makes a reference to going to a Kappa alumnae meeting later on!

I had forgotten about "Heart of Dixie"--I think it was filmed at Ole Miss at the DG house. My cousin's daughter was at Ole Miss at the time (she's a DG) and was in a crowd scene, maybe the funeral. She was supposed to be a "friend," but her schedule didn't allow her to be that involved.

Also, I haven't seen this one either but it is called something like, "True Confessions of a Soroity Girl," something along those lines. It has Alyssa Milano from Who's the Boss and another girl, I think her name is Jamie. But, that is supposed to be a comedy.

Ok, one of my sisters found this movie at ALF and we watched it one day. It was very humorous, but a few things puzzled me... like when Jamie Lunar first comes to the house, she's immediately given a little sister. Then, she's elected president. It was all just a little weird. But hey, it is just a movie!

Sorry, I just had to make a correction here...it was filmed at Indiana Univeristy, Bloomington campus. There is no University of Indiana! Other than that, you are right! "Breaking Away" is about the Little 500 race that happens every spring, usually April. It is a pretty big deal in Bloomington.

I thought of another one. In "Splendor in the Grass" when Natalie Wood comes home from the mental institution, her mom tells her that one of her friends pledged Kappa and another pledged Pi Phi. Needless to say she really doesn't care right then...

I just saw a preview for the movie "Old School" with Luke Wilson, and it looks sooo cute. His friends all decide they should relive their glory days or something, and they get together to get him a girl and make him cool I think. Anyway, there's some really funny scenes in the preview, and I want to see it!

The main character's girlfriend is a Tri-Delt and they use the Tri-Delt house several times. Also, most of the bike teams are fraternity teams.
In "Back to School" with Rodney Dangerfield, he walks into what he thinks is his son's fraternity house only to mistakenly find it's a sorority house.

Chloe173- just wondering, since part of Pumpkin was filmed at USC- did they use the AXO house at all? Because I saw the movie (and liked it a lot by the way) and there's a scene where Christina Ricci's boyfriend goes to the Tri-Omega house and above the door, there's a stained glass window of red carnations and a lyre...?
Also, someone on here mentioned the movie, "Going Greek..." That was supposed to come out a long time ago! They filmed a lot of it at UCRiverside my sophomore year (2000-01) and a lot of students, including almost all the Greeks, were asked to be extras in the movie. A few of my sisters got to meet Simon Rex (used to be an MTV VJ), and the producer and one of the actors came to our meeting to talk about the movie (the actor was the ex-boyfriend from Where the Heart Is, I dont know his name). Anyways, I don't think they're ever going to release the movie- there were some pretty horrid parts in it from what I heard from friends on the set.

Yep, the house in Pumpkin where the Tri-Omega's supposedly lived is actually AChiO! Good eyes, gphiangel!
Also, I thought of one other movie with a loose connection. In Heathers, they go to a frat party. It's not a really big part of the movie, but that scene probably does last 15 minutes or so.
