D'Angelo Arrested In Virginia
Grammy-winning R&B singer D'Angelo (real name: Michael Eugene Archer) had to be subdued with pepper spray yesterday (Nov. 18) after he resisted arrest on misdemeanor charges of aggressive driving and other counts, police said. Chesterfield, Va., police said they went to D'Angelo's suburban Richmond home after an alleged confrontation with a woman at a gas station on Sunday. The singer allegedly cursed at the woman and spit on her after he cut her off in his luxury SUV, police said.
D'Angelo, 28, allegedly resisted police as they attempted to take him into custody shortly before noon yesterday and had to be subdued with the irritant spray, Maj. James B. Bourque said. The artist was released on his recognizance pending a Jan. 15 appearance in Chesterfield General Court.
In addition to the driving count, he is charged with assault, curse and abuse, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest, all misdemeanors, Bourque said.
Two years ago, D'Angelo received a Grammy for best male R&B vocal performance for "Untitled (How Does it Feel)" from the album "Voodoo," which also won a Grammy for best R&B album. Released in February 2000, the Virgin set topped both The Billboard 200 and the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

AIR JORDAN
Woman accused by Jordan files countersuit
By Liam Ford
Tribune staff reporter
November 19, 2002, 5:59 PM EST
The woman accused of extortion by Michael Jordan filed a counterclaim today saying he offered her $5 million to keep quiet about their relationship.
Karla Knafel asked the court to force Jordan to pay her the money because he was in breach of contract. Jordan, speaking through his lawyer, said the suit was “full of lies.”
In her suit, Knafel, now 39, denied she tried to extort $5 million from Jordan, and said that was the sum he promised her in the spring of 1991, to be paid upon his retirement from basketball. In exchange, the suit states, the woman promised to keep silent about a pregnancy and not pursue a paternity suit.
For the affair to have been made public at the time, her attorneys contend, could have embarrassed Jordan and undermined any product endorsement deals he had pending. Jordan and his wife, Juanita, were married in September 1989.
Though Knafel at one time believed she was pregnant with Jordan’s child, she is not contending that in her suit filed today, her attorney, Michael Hannafan, said at a news conference in his Loop offices.
“I will tell you that the alleged claim of extortion by Michael Jordan and his lawyers is nothing but baloney,’’ Hannafan added.
The suit states that Knafel and Jordan carried on a sexual relationship from 1989 to 1991 in Chicago, Indianapolis and Phoenix, and that it was Jordan who pursued the woman. Knafel discovered she was pregnant several weeks after a November 1990 sexual encounter with the basketball star.
Hannafan said Jordan still owed the woman the $5 million he allegedly promised her. Knafel was not at the news conference.
Jordan’s attorney, Frederick Sperling, said, “Michael Jordan has authorized me to state that the papers Karla Knafel filed with the court today are full of lies. Any allegation that Michael Jordan is the father of any of Karla Knafel’s children is completely untrue, and she and her lawyers know it.
"The untrue allegations about his wife and marriage are particularly hurtful and malicious," Sperling said. "Michael Jordan will try this case in court, not through the media."
In a lawsuit filed Oct. 23 in Chicago, Jordan accused Knafel of trying to extort $5 million in exchange for her silence about their past relationship. Jordan admitted in the suit that the two had a relationship “more than a decade ago” and said he had previously paid Knafel $250,000 when she threatened to go public. Jordan’s lawsuit did not say anything more about the relationship, how long it lasted or whether Jordan was married at the time.
Juanita Jordan filed for divorce in January 2002. Just 31 days later, the Jordans withdrew their divorce case and announced they were attempting reconciliation.

P.Diddy Turns 33 in NYC
Nov 19, 11:15 AM EST
NEW YORK (AP) — The dress code was strict, the security tight and the champagne free at a celebrity-studded birthday bash for Sean "P. Diddy" Combs.
The party Monday night at The Supper Club, a posh Times Square nightspot, was in honor of the music executive's 33rd birthday.
Among the stars on the guest list were models Carmen Electra, Tyra Banks and Gisele Bundchen, rappers Ice Cube and Ice-T, singers Ashanti and Craig David, and actress Drea de Matteo of "The Sopranos."
Champagne bottles were placed on the red tables inside the two-tiered club. Hundreds of silver balloons hung from the ceilings, and photographs of Combs with his young son and mother were displayed on the walls.
A few dozen celebrity-watchers gathered behind police barricades across the street from the club, snapping photographs as the guests arrived.
Male guests were required to wear suits, while the women were asked to wear dresses, said Rob Shuter, a spokesman for Combs.

Marge Simpson to Get Breast Job
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The cartoon matriarch of "The Simpsons" is getting a breast boost.
Marge Simpson, previously known for her overly large column of blue hair, receives her amplified bosom because of a surgery mix-up in the Nov. 24 episode of the Fox comedy (8 p.m. EST).
The episode, titled "Large Marge," satirizes plastic surgery and images of beauty in popular culture.
In the story, Marge intends to get liposuction surgery to impress her portly husband Homer, but she gets switched with another patient at the hospital and ends up with implants.
Like actress Pamela Anderson, who famously had her surgically enhanced chest reduced to a smaller size, Marge Simpson's new figure won't be permanent, according to the network.

See, I would ask why but then again we have to look at who we're dealing with here? Why hold a towel over the baby's head? And WHY hold it over a BALCONY? That fool just needs to be put away.

Patty Jackson The 411
Singer Mary J. Blige is speaking out, about the state of today’s music. Mary says today you have to be a toothpick willing to show your butt crack. She says unfortunately it’s looks over vocal ability.
Rick James recently got his face cracked when he went on a shopping spree. Rick arrived at a leather store in a white limo and was prepared to do some serious shopping, after picking up several items he went to pay for it and his credit card was declined. Rick then ran out the store.
Last week was not a good one for Singer Bobby Brown. Bobby was arrested for speeding, driving without a license and possession of marijuana. Bobby says the charges were trumped up against him. He says he may have been speeding, but people who look like him wind up in jail. As he left the courthouse, Bobby had words of advice for his fans. Bobby told them to eat their vegetables, stay in school and stay away from drugs and alcohol.
Don’t look for a Jodeci reunion anytime soon. Apparently there is a lot of fighting going on between the guys. For the time being, Brothers KC and Jo Jo are just going to do their own thing. They have a new CD called Emotional featuring the song, This Very Moment.
The New TLC CD 3-D is out in stores. T-Boz and Chili says they will never replace Left Eye and they will no longer tour since her death. Chili is starting to open up about her relationship with Usher. Chili says they are seriously in love and that she has waited for a man like him all her life.

That milky-skinned baby is real, although I really doubt that it's Wacko Jacko's biological son. Unfortunately, he's got enough $$$$$ to hire lawyers and fight any attempt to get the babyperson away from him.
