My deepest condolences on the loss of your mother. Know that although she is in a better place, full of bliss, she will still always be with you.

CJ,
I will be there on Saturday...just let me know a time and directions to get there. My mom would like to come as well. I will most likely be the only Eta there because we do have Founder's Day that morning but I'm sure they will remember her there.
I admire you for being so strong....I will always be here for you if you ever need anything. I'm only a phone call away. Meeting you and your mother in December was a wonderful experience and I will never forget that. She will always be watching over you where ever you are in life.
All my love and ITB,
Andrea

May the Lord comfort and keep you
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4.
My condolences and prayers are given unto you and your family during this time of grief. May God's loving spirit of peace fill your heart and comfort you as well.

A prayer to begin the Lenten journey
O Lord and Master of my life, give me not a spirit of idleness, despondency, ambition or vain talking. But rather a spirit of purity, humility, patience and love, bestow on me Thy servant.
Yea, O Lord and King, grant me to see my own faults and not to judge my brother, for blessed art Thou to the ages of ages. Amen.
–The prayer of St. Ephraim the Syrian

One suggestion that might help ease your pain. Buy a journal and just stream of consciousness write in it. Write down everything you remember about your mother. From the songs she used to sing to you, to the advice she gave you. This would be a treasure to pass on to your children one day.

What a wonderful idea, ZTAMiami!
CJ, my prayers are with you and your family. I lost my daddy in August, and I still feel raw. Please know that your GC family is here for you, just as your DG family is, too. Be good to yourself, and know that you are blessed to have had such a wonderful mom all this time. She sounds as if she was truly a joy!
Peace be with you,
honeychile

I am so sorry...
I just talked to Andrea and she told me that your mom passed away. I am so sorry to hear that. I just want you to know that I am thinking of you and hope you are doing well. You and your family are in my thoughts. I value the time I spent with her when you two were both up here over Christmas break. She is such a strong memorable woman and I know you know that. I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you and if you need ANYTHING while you are up here in Akron, please please please don't hesitate to give us a call or to even stop by the house! Take care of yourself!!

Noreen

My condolences to you and your family...I just wanted you to know that It's okay to have a good cry on the 1st Mother's day...(It helped me 7 yrs ago.) Your mom is in a better place now and will rest in peace knowing that she gave a gift that will help someone's eyesight. Take care!

My thoughts for you. These simple lines have helped me understand and accept the losses I have had in my life. May God wrap his loving arms around you and your family and help your heart mend.
DON'T CRY FOR ME
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not here I do not sleep
I am a thousand different winds that blow
I am the diamonds glints on snow
I am the sunlight on the ripened grain
I am the gentle autumns rain
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft star that shines at night
do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not here I did not die.

Andrea - I should send this in a PM but I don't have time. Could you do me a HUGE favor? Can you try to look in Eta's records to see if a recent address for a woman by the last name of Paulson? She should be somewhere between '66-'70 - like my mom. Please let me know if you find anything. The service in Akron will be at 10 AM on Saturday, the 15th at GreenLawn Memorial Park. If you don't mind, I might like you to come to my grandmothers house that morning and go over with me - my boyfriend is staying here in Raleigh and I would really appreaciate if you could stick kinda close by. I'm doing pretty well with it all, but I'm sure you understand. Services here are tomorrow afternoon and I will call you afterwards, maybe tomorrow evening or Friday sometime. You can always leave messages here or on my IM too. Thanks so much!!
Love,
CJ
Thank you to everyone else too for all the kind words!

Dear CJ,
I just wanted you to know how sad I was to hear that your Mom passed away. My father died quite suddenly when I was 19 and I do remember how tough it was to be young and lose a parent.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Thank you also for your Mom being a cornea donor - I know that Delta Gamma is proud of her.
