Pref Night,
Wow rush had been picture perfect up until last night. It was deffinetly a tough evening. Lots of tears. I didn't get any of my top three houses from second rounds. I was so upset! But there I am all dressed up. Full hair, make up, and nails, and I was going to three houses I thought were not for me. I was very mistaken. As dissappointed as I was entering the evening. I feel that I have found my place. That my pref night was ment to be, and I will end up in the right house.
I went to
Pi Phi
Tri-Delt
KATheta
#1) I was rather suprised that I was asked back by this house because I never felt a connection here. The house was very classy looking lots of candles and lights. We ate a pound cake like dessert and drank pink lemonade. I liked the girl who rushed me but felt like we would never be close friends. I'd been hearing about a gut feeling that I would get. I didn't get any deep feeling here.
#2) This house grew on me. each round I liked it more. The girls are truley diverse. Dessert was a nice mint ice-cream and chocolate creation. It was great! My conversations were very nice. and the ceremony was very moving. I was all teary and all the girls were too. The nicest thing they did, was take a picture of us when we entered and then have it in a slide show at the end, I was so impressed.
#3) This house was my first choice from first round and then fell after second because I had a bad expereince. However, I know now that this is the place for me. I was rushed by a girl who rushed me first round and we tottaly get along. We talked about everything. I felt like I'd known her my whole life. Dessert was a berry cake thing. It was yummy. Plus they had a little kite with my name on it. How cute was that! The ceremony was nice and I got the feeling.
I talked with my Rho Chis a long time about the decision I was making. I was torn between 2 and 3. I feel like I could be happy at either house. Which is good, because if I don't get a bid from three, I'd still be super happy at 2. My decision was made because my rho chi asked "Is there a girl at one of the houses that you think, even if I don't pledge this house we're still going to be friends?" yes. number three. I feel like it will be a wonderful place for me. Now I just await bid day!! Tommorrow. I'm so excited and feeling like I'm going to be in the perfect place for me.

Badger,
I am so glad you enjoyed pref nite. You have looked at this whole process with a clear head and heart and were willing to give each house a chance. Any house would be happy to have you as a member.
Good luck tomorrow and let us know how bid day goes.
Greek love,
Melissa

Yay! I was feeling a little wishy-washy before Pref too, but afterwards I was where I wanted to be, for sure! I really hope Pi Phi was one of the houses you liked, I would love it if you were my friend's sister, but if not I know you'd be a great addition to any house!

BadgerRushee, you would be an awesome addition to any of these chapters. All three are incredibly strong national organizations (I'm admittedly biased about one of them, obviously) with a lot to offer. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you...

Sorry, BR, but you gave away the houses to those of us more astute about Greek life.
Anyway, I know which house you ranked first, and I have heard great things about their sisterhood. My big is at grad school in Madison, and she went in not knowing a soul. A couple of grad students from that chapter met her and took her under their wing, and she loves them to death.
My big is the nicest girl on earth, and the reason I joined my chapter, so if she has wonderful things to say about them, I am sure they are great girls, and I wish you the best of luck!

Good Luck!
Well, seeing as how Gamma Phi is not one of your three Pref houses, I guess I am partial to the Thetas with their high-flying kites! My (real) little sister is a Theta!
Good Luck and PUH-Leez tell us all as soon as you know ANYTHING!!!

Good luck!
I too picked up on your first choice and I must say that all of the women that I know in that particular sorority really are outstanding and phenominal women. I have fingers and toes crossed for you in good luck. I really hope you get the wish you wish for tonight!
