I know this thread is a little old, but I was reading it over and having flash backs and wanted to share some of my neo memories:
Carrying my SIA tote bag and my SIA water bottle (well, my big sister's water bottle that I "borrowed" from her) to my summer class, WITH my SIA jacket tied around my waist!! (OH, and I cant forget, the letters were prominently displayed in the back, and I always made sure you could see my chapter name and the "SP 99" on the sleeves in front! Had to tie the jacket on just so!!!) It didn't matter that it was 100 degrees outside, I wanted my letters to be seen from all angles!!!
Walking into the dining hall carrying my tote bag, making sure my letters were facing the people eating. As I left the dining hall, I would switch the bag to the other shoulder so people could see my letters on the way out, too!!!!!
I found a red, a gold, and a royal blue folding chair the semester I crossed, and PROUDLY displayed them on the balcony of my campus apartment. And I LOVED taking a picture with two of my roommates and I sitting in the chairs (those two roommates were also two of my line sisters

)
I can SOOO clearly remember my first day as a sister, going home, getting pretty, putting on my crossing shirt with jacket tied around the waist, running to my friends room to tell them the news, and taking my first picture wearing my letters and doing the hand sign. THEN I went over to my big sisters dorm, and let out a VERY loud call (although my voice completely cracked!!). And I LOVED hearing my response from my big sister, and then a response from my Kappa sandz, a friend of mine, who lived in the building. The JOYS of crossing, and the JOYS of being a neo!!!
Reading all of your stories brought back some GREAT memories ladies!!! THANKS!
