Question What?

Unique, you mean your signature "EEYIP, I love my gold and blue" was edited?

How petty and small-minded. I'm glad you took the higher road and did not respond to it.

This thread has turned into something else, like when Special 1920 started a thread some months ago on do you post in other's forums.

Sweetest Diva, I'm sorry if you have not felt welcomed here. I never want anyone to feel that way.

Sorhors and sisterfriends,

How did this question switch from the focus being about Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority to the heated exchange about disrespecting aka and dst? And then the tone changes to people not feeling welcome in Sigma Gamma Rhos gc! What is up with that statement? Everytime a non-member enters our gc the ladies of the rhoyal blue and gold are polite and welcome that person into the conversation unless that person is disrespectful and rude.

Serioussigma22

Everytime a take a small break from greekchat some crazy s#$$ goes down! What is up with that? Sorhor Bluereign thank you for keeping the thread going and handling business!

I have no comment about the original question, but I have comments about this quote:

I used to post all over GC, regardless of what organization it was because that is just the kind of person I am. Most of you, specifically DST and AKA don't come this way unless it is some controversy going on.
Amen!

Say that!

To any AKA and Delta who were offended.

I read your response and understand your frustration. But unfortunately I know some girls in college who did pledge Delta Sigma Theta and Alpha Kappa Alpha because of its popularity, not because of the work AKA and DST do. I was only commenting on that fact.

And the same goes for ZPhiB and SGRho on any particular campus, esp. if those are the only 2 orgs on their campus! But, don't get offended, many fall for the loop!

Thumbs up Sure you right!

Right! I agree with you Ms. Tell-it....

When I was undergrad back in the 80's, all I saw was pink and green and crimson and creme and nothing in between.

But I am so glad I waited!

OH I AM SO GLAD I WAITED!!

As my Soror TRSimon said in another thread,

Rubies and pearls are not meant for everyone!

Sorhors and Zetas,

I can't stop from laughing about the madness and I'm glad my Sorhors and the ladies of ZPhiB are setting the record straight. Folks we must keep it real when we are talking about the reasons why some ladies have become members of bglo organizations. And I totally agree with Sorhors and the Zetas about when members of organizations check out our boards to post only when there is a specific controversial topic. Keep speaking the truth because it will set you free.

i consider SIGMA GAMMA RHO the RHOad less traveled:

to be a SIGMA woman is to select an option that many aren't willing to take:
less recognition, less popularity, smaller numbers, having to strive harder just to be considered equal are challenges that a lot of people aren't up to. it takes a stronger woman to be a part of our sisterhood because it takes character to walk where comparatively few have gone before. i am not disparaging any other sorority, but if you need a deep chapter to feel pride or to be on fire, SIGMA is not for you. if you need 50 linesisters to feel significant, SIGMA is not for you. SIGMA is for women who can stand alone and still be down for the cause; SIGMA is for women who can be the chosen minority and still flourish; SIGMA is for women who can take the RHOad less traveled and know that it is indeed making all the difference... 9 times out of ten, if you pledge SIGMA, you didn't do it for the name of the sorority. Chances are you didn't do it for popularity. You probably didn't do it because it was the "in" thing; note that there are exceptions to every rule. because we are not what every girl on campus is trying to do, we tend to attract women who really want to do SIGMA because it is in their hearts... in short, i think it is harder to be a SIGMA GAMMA RHO because you have to constantly represent and defend the organization to prove that although smaller, we are worthwhile nonetheless... everyone isn't up to the challenge, sorors. i think it is important to retain our NUMBERS! and to represent, represent, be the best , and be the best to further the sorority! do big things and they can't help but hear about the best kept secret! (my whole family is DST and that's all i knew... and just look at me now! they told me i was making the wrong choice, but it takes a stronger woman to be an SGRho!)

Bluethunder,

I have been watching this thread for the past few days and have seen my sisters (black women) argue back and forth basically over nothing. I want to commend you on taking the "road (that you consider) less traveled".

I can see from your post you love your organization. Isn't that what it is ALL ABOUT?

We have got to stop the in fighting-- a united front is what we must present--- We are a family and fighting should be done behind closed doors (PM).

THEY look at us and even in cyperspace and say those people can't even get along with their own kind--how can we get along with them?

They say that we (black women) hate each other and are jealous and that is why we cannot get ahead.........

Let's not proove them right
