All Hail, Bro! Actually, the recipe for a Sinfonian shot -- layers of Grenadine, Kahlua and Grand Marnier (I have also heard of Jegermeister being used instead of Grand Marnier) -- can be found in a number of bartending guides. In fact, a little time spent exploring the drink lists in a guide like The Virtual Bar will yield quite a few drinks named after GLO's.

Ok, I didn't want to start a new thread for this, so I decided to pull one out of the graveyard.
It's my husband's birthday tonight, and I'm going to stop and pick up a bottle of liquor on the way home? Any suggestions??
We're not opposed to the pre-mixed magaritas/daquris/mudslides, but sometimes it gets old. Also, we don't drink alot at home, so I'm only getting one bottle of whatever. We prefer something more subtle, neither one of us cares for a strong alcohol taste.

I would say a good tequila, but KSigRC is the expert on that, so I'll leave it up to him (if he sees this thread).

Word.
If you're going to mix (as with a Margarita mix), I would suggest a decent Reposado tequila, as it fits most peoples' tastes a little better than an Anejo. If you're looking for something good, depending on budget, I like Cazadores, Sauza Hornitos, Herradura, or El Corazon . . . if you're going lower, though, that's cool - Cuervo Tradicional is pretty solid for an 'occasion' drink.
Add Grand Marnier or Cointreau as budget allows . . .

Actually, was meaning to ask; I got a bottle of La Fogata Anejo for a present. Good stuff? I haven't had a chance to try it yet.

Scotch and Bourbon for me, and I never mix the bourbon. I drink it either neat or with a single ice cube. Every now and then I will add a splash of water, but it has to be spring water as tap water has too many impurities.
Scotch wise: Macallan 21 or 30 year - Glenfiddich - Johnny Walker Blue Label - Glenlivet 18 year
