People often say that when their first experience with beer came from a white can with red letters saying "Beer" scrolling accross the front...

Seriously, try some of the stuff we're talking about in this thread, it's actually good... You just have to be open to the goodness. I'll give it that.

(and if I can ever convince my girlfriend of that fact then I've truly got a gift)

People who dont like the taste of beer - I suggest starting with really light ones, coors light, etc.

You'll get used to it. As I tell all the freshman grils who come to our parties and start "requesting" non-beers, i.e., wine coolers, smirnoff ice, etc: "Yeah, we'll go to the store and get you soemthing special this time, but a piece of advice to take from the senior girls, learn to drink beer. Because by February, both your cute and newness will have worn off and the brothers wont cater to your whims anymore. Sure most junior/senior gals prefer a nice mixed drink or glass of wine, they will gladly drink a beer if they are at a party and thats all thats available. They wont leave to get their own wine cooler, 'cause they dont wanna miss something.

Here of late - I have been on a Dos Equis kick. Then I go back to Ziegenbock, or Shinerbock.

Never more true words spoken. I love junior/senior girls. They are so much easier to please and laid back. I bet every senior I know will gladly throw back a case of natty with you if you had to pay rent that week or something, and never think twice about it. The incoming freshman hit campus in september, and after rush and the like they are usually ready to throw down about the middle of the month. THey are real easy to spot at parties. THey walk in, pound 2 wine coolers, a smirnoff ice, and anything else they can stuff in their purse, then they lock themselves in a bathroom profusely throwing up. INCOMING FRESHMAN: let this be a lesson to you. Dont be like the rest of the girls that your gonna go through rush with and what not. When you hit your first fraternity party, walk up to a guy and ask him if he has any PBR, Natty, or Beast in the fridge that you could possibly have.

I'm not a big fan of beer. After I have a few other alcoholic beverages I can usually put back a few Miller Lites. Beer is an acquired taste and I just never acquired it...damn. It would have been a lot cheaper than buying shots and girly drinks all through my college years.

I don't really know if Woodchuck is considered beer or not but I love that stuff! Granny Smith is the best!

This is soo true. I am a senior and I like the girly beers like Smirnoff Ice, Wine Coolers, Skyy Blue, and Zima Citrus, BUT if it comes down to a bangin' party with only Budweiser, Michelob, or Colt 45 like Dyonysus mentioned, I can throw down with the best of them!!

Man, if a girl came in and asked for one of those beers, I might have to marry her right on the spot.

Also, I just had a couple of Saranac Pilsners last night - one of the better beers I've had in a long time. Kinda on a par with Harpoon UFO. Solid beer altogether, and only 5 bucks for a 6 pack at the place right down the street from my apartment.

Alright, here we go.

first of all, to whoever posted about "Arrogant Bastard Ale", i tried it for the first time this last weekend. Definately not my favorite.

Bud Ice?? Why don't you just slam your head with a car door and go straight to the feeling you'll have the morning after. ewwww

ok, now, Kitso's beers:

Light beer: Coors Light, it's my goal to help Coors overtake either Miller or Budweiser.

Dark beer: The one, the only Shiner Bock. If you've never had one, you need to get your butt to Texas to have one.

Import: Modelo. I drank the HELL outta those in Laredo at our formal last year.

Something else i thought of when reading this thread, Texas music fans, sing it with me

"...Lone Star beer in my cereal is KEEPING me alive!!"

It's wet, ain't it? Drink it

Hmmm . . . beers . . .

Shitty: PBR (word)

Sorta shitty: MGD ---> the name of my band, we suck

Expensive: Newcastle

New England Style: Magic Hat #9

You've never heard of: Court Ave. Vanilla Ale

Seriously, I could talk about beer all freaking day - hopefully in a couple hours, i'll be able to contribute to the "drunk thread" (wednesdays, what)

"Drink one more round on me, let’s sing an old melody
Hold your drinks up high, and toast the night
Hold your baby strong, help me sing that old song
I think that one more drink, might do me right"

I HAVE to post this song under "I like Texas!!!"
