My friend was very bored and idle at work one day. She took the lyrics from "Ignition" and rewrote them to analyze all the pedophilia and pervert references R. Kelly was subliminally saying. She also rewrote "Bonnie and Clyde 03" by JayZ and Beyonce to "Me and My Hair Weave". She always makes up her own lyrics to songs and sings along to the radio.

Our current favorite is in "Pimp Juice"
"You ain't from Russia why you rushing around" cracks us up.
"He was a boy she was a girl, can I make it any more obvious" I just hate Avril...I want to strangle her with that dumb tie.

Also, don't forget that Shakira is a Latin artist who eventually crossed over into mainstream play. "Whenever, Wherever" is called "Suerte" on her Spanish language album. The lyric you all are talking about translates pretty much the same in both languages as she sings it. However, let's not forget that a lot of songs which go from Spanish to English can get the lyrics sort of messed up as word for word English translations won't always fit the music.

if this song blows, why is it receiving big time air play?
it's one of those things that unless you relate, you don't get it.

Um no really, I do get it. Just b/c I don't have a stepdad doesn't mean I can't understand...but lets not act like its "quality rap". The day that some little kid yelling "You aint my dad" to a horribly repetitive melody is considered a "good" song is rapidly approaching and it scares the shit out of me. Trust me, big time air play is NO guarantee that there's anything quality on the radio.
Even if you think it is, that has nothing to do with it. This thread is about dumb lyrics, and those lyrics are stupid. End point.
