Anything you've "heard" that has ANYTHING to do with membership selection is rumor and way more than likely untrue. Except in 1 and maybe 2 cases in the entire country, I would consider any stories that say a sorority has pre-selected an invitation list to be complete malarkey.

mamagreek: BTW I think your comment about "these aren't the houses that invite everybody back after convo round" is filled with misinformation and fuels tent talk. As you might know, recruitment is competitive. Every house cuts people after every round... and early round cuts for grades are the norm. Others can respond about release rates and such but membership selection is private and varies from house to house.

Today is the first of three convo days...I am really shocked that there is just one USC pnm posting on here with ~1100 girls and their parents! Good luck to one and all! If any of you are just visiting and not posting please tell us how it is going for you!

There aren't as many west coast posters on this board. Or at least they don't post as often, though many lurk. It always surprises me though since the greek systems in California aren't exactly small and Washington has a good size system as well.

My daughter is going through recruitment. So excited for her and the other PNM's! Not sure how much I will hear but I will let you know.

I did get a call last night. My daughter enjoyed the first evening. She went to 3 houses. Over the next 2 evenings, she will go to the other 7 houses. So glad the first 3 days are in the evening because it is also the first week of school.

Today potential new members at SC will visit up to seven chapters by invitation. Tomorrow, Saturday, they will visit up to four chapters by invitation.
A highlight on Friday is the opportunity to tour the sorority chapter houses.

PandaBear 3... Thinking good thoughts for your daughter and you as well! How is she holding up as she moves on to the second round? Today would be door block along with house tours. Very fun and exciting! Good luck to all the pnm's out there!

Thanks Pearly! I am hoping to hear from her after house tours. The parties go very late but she was able to attend her afternoon class today. She has a full schedule but did loose a house that one of her close friends is in and was a little disappointed and confused. There's no getting around it, it hurts to be dropped especially when you have close friends in the house. Fingers crossed she is having fun tonight and all goes well tomorrow!

Preference was earlier today. Tonight is Bid Night. The chapters should know later this afternoon names of their new members.
Bid Night is scheduled at 9 o'clock, PT. Perhaps by then we will hear from west coast Greeks numbers for all the chapters.
