I lived in the Flatlands area, then moved to Midwood. But my cousins have a brownstone in Park Slope and it is beautiful!

My mother grew up in Park Slope too!!!
Most of my family have moved to different places like Rockaway, Yonkers, etc. but my grandparents, and two uncles, live in Benson Hurst...they've been there for well over 20 years.

Kinda late in this...but...
I was born in Honolulu in 1979 and I grew up in a really bad part of town. Our old apartment was 2 blocks away from a run-down government housing complex so the neighborhood was overflowing with drug addicts and gangs.
When I was in the 2nd grade, my parents were having problems in their marriage so I was sent to live with my uncle and his family. So, all my stuff was packed and I shuttled off to Anderson Air Force Base on Guam. I hated Guam.
Thankfully, my parents worked things out and I moved back to Honolulu. However, when I was in the 5th grade my father got sick and I had to go off and live with my uncle again. Only this time instead of going back to Guam I moved to Petaluma, CA. Yeah. Petaluma was not a good place to be. I remember being the only Asian child in the school and many kids did not want to hang around me.
I moved back to Hawaii again in the 6th grade after my dad passed. Around this time my mom moved us out of the bad neighborhood and we finally got a house in the suburbs.
...And I've been here ever since.
As a child I spent my summers and school breaks on my grandfather's ranch in Anahola, Kauai. Right next to the ranch is the largest taro farm in Hawaii, so I learned how to grow and cultivate taro when I was very young. I used to have so much fun living out in the country. I go there once in a while, but I'm so used to living the busy life that I usually get bored after 2 or 3 days there.

I spent a couple of years living in Bristol. KSigkid, don't sell it short, they've got Lake Compounce too
Now... western Connecticut. I just can't get out of the Northeast

Haha, good point - I worked at Lake Compounce for a year. I was a ride operator for one of the roller coasters and a couple other cool rides, as well as Kiddyland. Great people to work with, but the people who go to that place are unreal. Where do you live in western connecticut?

I lived in Bardstown, KY from the time I was born, until I went to college in Louisville, KY. Bardstown is a small town about 45 minutes away from Louisville.....I can't wait to move to another big city.....but I did like living in a small town growing-up. It makes you a better person...lol.

Born in Oklahoma City, lived near Los Angeles till I was 3 or so... then bounced from there to Martinsville to Appomattox to Farmville (all in Virginia, all places I don't want to be). When I graduate in May I'm planning on living near, but not in, D.C.

I've thought about it Makeda. You don't know how close I was to going to Texas A&M. I only stayed in Baton Rouge because my daddy basically begged me to stay. Not that I don't love LSU. I have family in Houston and Dallas so it wouldn't be so bad but I'll probably move somewhere in Arkansas, Tennessee, or Kentucky to find a job. My big sis's biological sister is one of the big wigs in a company in Arkansas and she's already telling me that she can get me a job up there if I would like.
