Every link I find, the dress is SOLD OUT!
http://thestylecure.com/Lauren-by-Ra...341165551.html
Google "Lauren Ralph Lauren Manda Faux Wrap" periodically to see if one turns up. They weren't sold out on Macy's.com as of last Saturday. My dress was actually not plus size: It was an XL, but I can't find out where regular sizes were sold at all.
Good luck ladies!

Love that dress, and I just looked at the site and realized that the model is my sister's niece Ashley Graham!

I found it on the Ralph Lauren site, clearance for $71.99 (I think).

On an unrelated note,
Cherry P's Cafe just opened across from my work building. Haven't been yet.

Misscherrypie, I just now read your thread and I just wanted to say that you sound like a really poised and dignified young woman. Best of luck to you in the future!

Thank you so much KillarneyRose! That's so sweet of you to say.
Recruitment is ongoing, and everything at school is going fine. Just wanted y'all to know that I was okay, and will post the rest of my recruitment story as promised when everything is said and done.

A week has passed since recruitment ended for Blueberry and Strawberry, and I haven't heard a thing either way.
Other friends that I have who are involved in non-NPC GLO's say that I would have heard back by now. So, maybe that is an answer in itself.
I'm upbeat, but extremely confused at the turn of events. Should I just wait and see?
I don't know.

Sorry to hear that you're sort of hanging there. I hope you have a real answer soon.

Wait and see. You've done everything you can. They know how to find you if they want to offer you a bid. Meanwhile, continue to explore opportunities at the university. Keep busy to distract yourself and meet new people.

I was made aware today that neither Blueberry nor Strawberry decided to extend a bid to me.
Understandably, I'm crushed....
Since I really enjoy philanthropy, I'm probably going to pursue that on my own, and wait to see if there are any COB opportunities that may arise and pursue those. I am trying to meet people....and have made connections with many of the ladies that I rushed and participated in formal recruitment....but it has been difficult to try to keep them going.
I'll just say it: I feel very, very lonely on campus.
I don't know what is happening with the non- GLO activity that I was invited to participate in. I've attempted to contact them, but they haven't responded to me or reached out since my initial acceptance.
I very much want to be involved on campus, but haven't found a way to do so....not that I haven't tried....short of attending sports games and cheering loudly.
Maybe I wanted it too badly. At all of the recruitment and rush events, I attended EVERY SINGLE ONE. I guess that perhaps I appeared extremely desperate to TPTB, even if I didn't mean to.
Not the end of my story....I hope that either this spring or next Fall, my dream of going Greek may happen....but it's ended for now.

I'm so sorry. Does your campus have Alpha Phi Omega or another service GLO? While these wonderful organizations are not a substitute for a "social" organization, you said that you are philanthropy-minded, and these orgs offer a focus on service with the long-standing traditions of other fraternities and sororities. I had a great experience with Alpha Phi Omega in my undergrad years.
Circle K is also a good option if you are looking to serve your community and make friends.
What are your other interests? I made good friends in the college choir. I loved working on my school's newspaper and literary journal. I really bonded with those friends...as in MARRIED the sports editor.
Good luck, hon. I know it hurts right now. I've been there!

LouisaMay offered some good possible alternatives.
Is there an organization on campus that is related to your major? You might be able to meet some people and make some friends thru that avenue. Something else you might want to explore is volunteering on a committee such as homecoming, some other campus wide event, or with a campus org. that focuses on philanthropy, since that is an interest of yours.

I have a few orgs in mind: There are honor societies in my Major AND Minor on campus, and I have attended the open events for the community for one of them....the other hasn't had a meeting as of yet for this semester. There is also a social org that is recruiting as we speak, and they are involved with many activities on campus....
Let's see: I love (as hobbies) Pilates, dance, theatre, reading, travel and creative writing.
Alpha Psi Omega does not have a chapter in my state. I am wondering if the GL office, when they said that they had no interest in expansion, did that also include service orgs? I'd love to get that clarified, as this org sounds very much like something that I'd be interested in getting involved with.
I'd say which school I attend, if that wouldn't hurt my chances for COB....but if anyone already has figured it out and may know more about my school and clubs and such than I do....then feel free to send me a PM.
After a night's sleep....I guess that I'm gradually making peace with the situation. Sometimes, when you want something so badly enough....it doesn't happen.

No, a service organization would be through an Office of Student Activities. The Office at Greek Life manages the social fraternities and sororities. I'm sorry things didn't work out, but do contact the office of student activities-- there is bound to be a master list of campus organizations that they have on hand for orientations and interested students like you.
