Yes. And manipulative evil people can twist any belief system - political, religious, philosophical - to justify their own actions and solicit support for their way of thinking.

Certainly not, but I love when people claim that ALL people in a group are a certain way when they don't know anyone in that group. You don't have to be best friends with a person of the Islamic faith to know that they aren't all extremists. Maybe if they did get past the different clothes, they'd figure out that they're people just like the rest of us, just trying to make a life for their families.
