I'm pretty sure this is about me. SDT made a presentation at the pre-recruitment meeting. I was impressed by it, so I decided to keep them in mind. They did not participate in any part of formal rush, though. They began their more formal part of informal rush two days after formal recruitment's bid night, and then we had our bid night exactly two weeks after the formal bid night. Now we're doing more informal informal recruitment--for those two more formal weeks, there were 3-4 events per week, where as now we have about one event a week, plus inviting some PNMs to MNDs. (ah so many initials!)
sorry for the sidetrack!
Best of luck with your recruitment, socalveg!

(Just a guess)

If a sorority got into that much trouble, 1) the national most likely would close it for a bit before participating in rush and 2) when they did, most likely would not bring all alumnae from that chapter regardless of age.
I'm sure some of the alums she met are a ripe old 25.

The chapter in question did not get into trouble with the national. There was a decision to to refocus the trajectory of the house. I am absolutely certain that there no shenanigans by the members.

I didn't think so either. I was just explaining to naraht that what he proposed was super unlikely.

ROUND TWO
I was cut pretty hard after first round, and at first I was really bummed out, but I realized after a while that I had liked all of the houses I was asked back to, and that I should be happy!
Lincoln: I warmed up more to this house after their party. It was really interesting to watch their video on their philanthropy, and both of the girls I talked to were really nice. We also did a house tour, and the house was pretty cute and the room set ups seemed like fun. We seemed to have pretty good, genuine conversations, so I’m excited to see if I get this house back tomorrow!
Buick: I really can’t convince myself to warm up to this house. Again, the girls I talked to were nice enough, but I really just don’t click with them at all. The conversations seem horribly…forced. The house was really nice and the rooms were all beautifully decorated, but I really just don’t see myself here. One interesting thing, however, is that I seemed to keep committing verbal faux pas (not on purpose!) during house tours. We were talking about losing our voices, and I said something along the lines of "we're all going to be silent on bid day!" meaning that in general, all the girls rushing wouldn't be able to speak, but based on the fact that she looked funny and quickly changed the subject, I think she thought I was saying "all of us HERE are going to be silent," and it seemed like I was being a bit presumptuous. And after that, I said something along the lines of "I'd love to live in a room like this when I live in house!...uh um, if I get into a sorority, that is." It was insanely awkward, and again she did a quick subject change. I felt so stupid!
Audi: I was so SO happy to see them back on my schedule. I was a bit bummed that so many of the houses I liked had dropped me, so I was thrilled that Audi had decided to give me another chance! I seemed to click very well with the two girls I talked to, and it was just fun to interact with them and it seemed very natural. Their philanthropy really interests me, and I was planning to do volunteer work involving a similar cause, so I was excited about that! I really hope to be back tomorrow.
Toyota: This was another house that I warmed up to, and by the time I left today, I found myself liking them a lot more. Their philanthropy is also extremely interesting, and it’s for a cause that I believe in very strongly, so that made me happy. The house tour was a lot of fun, and I liked that rather than have a pile of girls in one of the upstairs room trying to talk over each other, they took you to an empty bedroom for a bit to escape the crowd and chat for a couple of minutes. I like this house much better than I did yesterday!
Although all of the houses were ranked as 1s for me because I had less than five, here are my own personal, unofficial rankings:
1. Audi
2. Toyota
3. Lincoln
4. Buick

ROUND THREE
I had the exact same schedule for round three, so I was superhappy to get Audi back!
Audi: I had a lot of fun at their party today! The girl I talked to was really sweet and really fun to talk to, and she seemed to really like me. Their skit was absolutely adorable and hilarious, and their slideshow was really nice and they seem to be really close. I really want this house.
Toyota: Their party was nice as well. Conversation became a little bit forced and awkward at some point, but luckily the presentation started soon after that. They also did a skit and a slideshow. The skit was okay, kind of abrupt, but the slideshow was really nice. I wouldn’t mind being in this house, but again, I’m not in love.
Lincoln: I warmed up even more to this house after their party. I talked to three girls today, and I clicked really well with one of the girls, she was insanely sweet! The second and third girls were really nice as well, although the third girl continually called one of the accomplishments I’d done in my life “weird,” so that made it a little awkward. But other than that, I had a good time here and I’m interested to see what happens.
Buick: The party for this house today was…interesting. I still didn’t enjoy being there, and the conversation was still awkward, but I found myself trying harder in this house today. Not because I wanted to be there, but because I was double rushed with another PNM, and she was being a total cow. While we were sitting there talking to the active member, the other PNM spent the whole time staring into her glass and playing with her napkin and generally just ignoring our rusher. I felt really bad because it was obvious she had no interest in being there, and she was being really rude. When she finally decided to talk, she spent 5 minutes asking about the crazy parties at the school our rusher had previously attended. So it was definitely interesting to try so hard to make non-awkward conversation to make up for the other girl, but I think I did an okay job (at least I hope). Their slideshow and skit were nice, but I really really don’t believe I’m meant to be here.
Today we ranked two houses as our number 1, and the other two as 2 and 3. So my rankings were:
1. Audi
1. Lincoln
2.Toyota
3. Buick

ROUND FOUR
This round was Pref, and unfortunately, I lost Audi. =/ However, I did get my second choice back, Lincoln, so I was happy about that!
Lincoln: I really really enjoyed speaking with the two girls I talked to at Pref. I felt a bit guilty because I was superrrexhausted and it was a bit harder for me to focus, and I really wanted them to see that I was interested. But the conversations still went really well, and we all got to participate in a ceremony that was really beautiful. I was starting to realistically see myself in this house.
So I was still really sad about losing Audi, and when it came time to vote, I was torn. I could accept my bid from Lincoln, and give it a chance, or I could risk everything and wait for COB, even though I’m a junior and don’t even know which houses will be participating. After talking to my Rho Gamma for a while, I decided that I did in fact like Lincoln, and that maybe Audi realized something I didn’t, and that the best thing to do would be to give Lincoln a chance. So I signed the card!
So, I’m am now a proud member of
