Dang what kind of car do you drive that you only have to fill up once a month? I have to fill up mine every week, and I don't drive around very much---just to work and back.

If a driver is stupid and wreckless, what's the issue?

I drive a Civic and only fill up once maybe 2-3 weeks. It's awesome.

wow, once a month fill ups... in my dreams! I only drive myself around now, but I've never gotten that good gas mileage. A sporty car does feel good now, even though I miss the carpool days (sometimes).

I have a little Lexus IS250. I think the reason I only have to fill up once a month is because I hardly drive now that I'm not hauling around kids. My work is within 5 miles, and I don't venture far beyond the neighborhood to shop, etc. Anywhere that we go that is far, my husband drives. (I'm like some granny, except I'm not in a Cadillac, and I look better in my car )

I got the car November, 2008 and I have less than 7,000 miles on it!

I got my Acura three years ago (just paid it off, woohoo!) and I've only got about 8,000 miles on it.

Of course, that might have something to do with the fact that I used to take the train to work, and now I work from home, so I hardly ever drive the poor thing . . .

I had the opposite problem-went to drive an SUV for a week while my car (3 series BMW) was being repaired and I freaked. I did not like the fact that I couldn't zip in and out of traffic, parking was stressful and I couldn't take corners like I was use to. I like being low to the ground. Fortunately, I don't have to deal with snow.

ETA
My car gets pretty good gas mileage-I only fill it up every 3 weeks.

Neither one of them liked being so low to the ground, or the way they handled in the snow as compared to what they were used to. My mom traded back up to a Sienna, and my dad to a Rav4.
This is my mom! She and my stepdad have both always had SUVs (snow).

One year they decided that it was best to trade down to cars because of the fuel.

We live on a back road that doesn't get plowed as quickly as the main streets do.

Each of them got stuck at least 3 times that winter.

At the next opportunity, they got SUVs again.

Welp, I went with the Escape. I picked it up today. It's an ok car but comparing it to my Edge.... in the words of Lil Kim "I go from first class to coach". I feel like it drives like a truck (which I guess it is). It has NO pick up. It's a 4 cyllander as was my Edge. The steering wheel isn't as tough as my Edge which I like. It'll probably be easier to park. It doesn't have the extra cup holders on the bottom of the front doors like the Edge. I guess we'll have to see.

V4 SUV = WEAK, they should only put smaller engines in cars, not trucks or SUVs. I take it you don't plan on hauling a trailer around, do you? My Escape was a V6, my Land Rover is a V8 and still has slow pick-up.
