Yes, every Fraternity has their own prestige and famous members. You should consider each fraternity available on campus, finding a group of guys that you will like is KEY, should be your first thing you look for, and finding a fraternity where YOU fit best is most important also. Aside from that I feel that facts about Beta Theta Pi Fraternity speak for itself. Although, everyone as you can tell EVERYONE on this forum has their OWN OPINION on this. As far as whos considered "elite". You'll just have to find out the real deal for yourself. Personally, I find that numbers dont mean jack. Of course I was never a part of a large chapter and as everyone says every school is different.

Am I the only one who picked up that Brandon said he WANTS to go to BU within the next year? He didn't say he's attending BU in the fall, just that he wants to go. I think as Greeks, we should be encouraging him to focus on getting into school before we suggest which organization he should rush/pledge. As we all know, Greeks are different on every campus. And as I've noticed from posts on this board as a whole, the final decision of which organization to rush is based on the chapter and not on the organization as it's done with the NPHC.

Well children, while I am LAMBDA CHI ALPHA and of course feel Mine Is The BEST, we have set many precidents that some of the greeks have followed, one must remember one thing , that those who don't go GREEK are the biggest losers. While most of the Nationals are strong each campus is different and ergo each house is different. Each Fraternity or Soroity is as strong as their house on that one campus! JUST REMEMBER We are of all of the same bond! Alone we are nothing but together WE are strong! Tom Earp LX Z #1 Pitt. St U (Kansas)

Well I have to say that coming from a girls perspective and also beign from Texas it seems that Delts, KA's, Kappa Sigs, and Phi Delts along with SAE's are the elite in my opinion at the schools I have been to and visited.

It seems as if, being from the South, most of the powerful men in my community are either members of Kappa Alpha Order, or Sigma Chi. Any other Southerners agree?

Hey Brandon,
I would go through the whole, it just matters where you feel right thing but I am sure you don't want to hear it.
I have heard that both Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) and Sigma Chi are the two biggest nationally, #'s and chapters and they are the two that you will find more people were when you get into the work world.
Just remember everything is different at every school

You silly men! Don't you realize that the best fraternity for a guy to join is the one that attracts the most women to its parties?
Sheesh!
You need a girl to point out the obvious!

I totally agree! Down here (in the South) Sigma Chi's seem to be pretty popular. Around here they're just soo good looking and the nicest gentlemen

Brandon, don't know if you are still reading these, but by far the best fraternity is Sigma Alpha Epsilon. I am biased because I know so many of them from all different chapters. However, the are one of the oldest and by far the largest with members. They also have an interesting list of famous alums. Good luck in your choice, if you go greek.

All in all i think this is one crazy a$$ discussion but for some reason i have to post my opinon. SAE all the way. I love the brotherhood and it kills me that i had to transfer and i was never able to activate at my orignal chapter. Either way its on the way and i hope that rushees will make the decision on there own.

The Lambada Lambda Lambda is by far the best. No, the Alpha Beta. Wait a minute, the Rho Rho Rho.
(A lesson, who care, it's who you fit in with is the best. You could join the "elite" one on campus, but if they are total opposite of who you are, you won't experience the full experience of being in a fraternity.)
