Tootiepie,
Please pass on my best wishes to your new Phi Mu! We are sisters!
And she is going to love her sorority experience! Great times ahead.
Although some chapters draw heavily from certain regions of the state, I am positive that each chapter has out-of-staters...probably more than you would guess.

I am so very happy for you. Phi Mu has a GREAT chapter at LSU but everyone has a great chapter at LSU. It's always a party in Louisiana.

How interesting to find this thread. Spent the day with an Alpha Gam that lives in BR; her dau was a Zeta at LSU.
Maybe Alpha Gam will go back on campus!

As I walked down the row I was so impressed by all the sororities. They all had such beautiful girls who looked like they were having so much fun. It makes me want to be 18 all over!!!

I agree with you, Just Interested!
The key is to stay in the hunt and happily grab the bid you are given.
The chapters are all thriving and have much to offer.
Congrats to all of the actives and the new members!

Congratulations! I know you and your daughter are thrilled. My closest cousin was a Phi Mu! I hope she has a great time the next four years.

Congrats to your daughter! Phi Mu did great this year! All but 2 sororities made quota, and I believe Phi Mu and KD had the most girls put them first on their cards, so she's joining an excellent chapter. Quota was 71, by the way.

Does anyone know if a bid list is traditionally posted? I have a girl I know through my famil who went through, and I'm curious to know where she pledged.

I've never seen an LSU bid list posted.

AnchoraAlumna is correct. LSU does not traditionally post a bid list like Auburn and Alabama. Greek Affairs does/did do a press release to The Advocate and all of the NPCs were included. However, in recent years, not all of the chapters have given permission to print their lists so only maybe 5 or 6 chapters will appear.

I was a little surprised to hear the discussion about how many pledges put a sorority first on their cards - I did not know that information was available to the sororities. I would have that it was a little like knowing where you were on the bid list. Information that leads to hurt feelings.

Look at the # of posts the poster who said that has. I wouldn't take that info as gospel. It sounds like a variation on "3000 girls started rush at SEC U and only 1000 got bids."

I'm surprised that you're surprised! The number of women matched to their first choice or secoond choice has always been common knowledge at places where I've assisted with recruitment. The numbers for the individual groups are generally only known by them but the overall first matches are a very important statistic for PH to know. They also provide that info to NPC. It tells them how well the system is doing overall with educating the PNMs, the chapters, etc. That's usually one of my first questions when working with a chapter.
