I dunno if any of you are into the Garage Rock scene @ all, but I'm sure most of you have heard of The White Stripes at least (a Detroit band by the way, YEAH!!) Anyway they have a song on their new album; Elephant, that is called "Little Acorns" and it's all about a Squirrel. In the beginning this Detroit news icon, Mort Crim is on telling a story from this thing he does on the news and on some radio stations called "Second Thoughts" which are just little inspirational stories about life pretty much. Anyway, he's telling a story about this woman who at a low point in her life saw a squirrel storing nuts for the winter and she thought "If that squirrel can handle it's problems by breaking down it's tasks and taking each nut one by one, then I can take my problems one by one" then the song starts and it's all about "Being like the squirrel girl, be like the squirrel" It's such a good song regardless and even better because it's about squirrels!!!! I also totally recommend the album for anyone who is into garage rock at all!!

Latest Squirrel Stuff Sightings
Gotta keep ya'll informed, lol.
Ty has a "new" beany baby, Nuttsy...holding an acorn.
Nutty the squirrel
I spend my days running 'round
Both in the trees and on the ground
I chase my friends and they chase me
CURRENT
That is what makes us most happy !
There's a band called The Mixed Nuts but the squirrel looked like he was in a totally bad mood, lol.
I checked out the Squirrel Store. The Got Seed? shirt....probably never buy...the Feed the Bird (alias squirrel) is cute. They also have cute magnets, mouse pads, candles, etc. The SS site had a squirrel and acorn necklace, but it was soooo totally gross and tacky, I wouldn't dare post it, lol. It MIGHT have been okay if they were very small, but they looked like they might have been at least an inch long each ALL AROUND THE necklace!! Looks like something a medicine man would wear to scare the spirits away, lol.
So far...no money spent ...tonight

Aww, the new squirrel Beanie Baby, Nutty, is so cute! I may have to get one so that "Nuts" has a friend. And, of course, I will probably have to get a few for my sisters, as well!

So the other night I was watching That 70's Show (one of the funniest shows in history!) and the character, Jackie was wearing this sweater vest and matching hat. At first it was hard to see what it was on it in the white knit, but as I looked at it, I saw......Squirrels!!! I was so excited! My roomate, who is a TKE just laughed at me and threw a pillow at me! It was super cool though; and I want it sooooooo badly!!!

At Gap Factory Outlet, I saw a cute sweater with a squirrel applicaied on the front of it. There was an accorn bouncing on the squirrel's head. This was a sleeveless sweater for a toddler girl up to age five or so.

Must be popular too because all the sizes except for M are backordered. I should get that shirt for a bowling shirt, even though my team is named "The Bad News Bears"...
