Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Joanna Pacitti the girl who a number of years ago won the right (through a Macy's contest) to be Annie on Broadway and then as the show was in 'tryouts' out of town was replaced? I feel like her name sounds familiar. If this is the girl I'm thinking of, her family sued saying she had the right to be Annie since she won the contest. I believe they eventually settled. And if I'm also remembering correctly, the producers felt like she just didn't have enough charisma to carry the show the way they felt it should have been carried.

You are correct. Barbara Walters even did a boo-hoo sob story in her defense saying she should have been Annie.

Really?!? That was her? Geez, I don't remember that story being so long ago.

My friend was in the clips last night, but he didn't make the cut! He was the one in the graduation cap!

What's up with the one-woman step show?
Did she even sing?

Ok, now, really -- Simon and Randy continuing to support "bikini girl" is just making this a farce. They've cut people that are much better vocalists than her, you can tell they're just doing it to irritate Paula and Kara.

And L.O.L. at Kara's parting line - "Bring your pole tomorrow." LOLLERS.

Hubby was dying laughing at this...he said Kara should have added, "and your clear heels." You can totally tell Simon was joking because he kept saying the music would make it better (aka drown her out).

So far my favorites are Danny (the music teacher with the glasses) and Jorge Nunez.

Is he the one who lost his wife? He reminds me SO much of Robert Downey Jr. looks-wise. I love him and his friend, but I like his voice more. I hope he makes it to the show.

Oh good God. Bikini needs to be punched in her damn head and I'll be the one to do it.

ETA: She is horrible. Nowhere near the level of Faith Hill to sing that song.

I'm with you on Danny, I was an emotional wreck during auditions when they told the story of him losing his wife and played the clip of his proposal. I hope he and his best friend Jamar both make it through.

You know what though, it really pissed me off to see Simon doing the cat claw thing, and making the PFFST noise. If I was Cara, I'd probably have slapped him. It really bothers me when men pull that kind of crap.

Like the only reason she doesn't want bikini girl on the show is because she is jealous! It couldn't have anything to do with the fact that her voice is reed thin and she just basically sucks!!

srmom, this made me laugh. You're always so nice and encouraging in all of the recruitment threads, and then you say this. I just about died

And also.. you're absolutely right.

Sorry! I was absolutely driven to distraction by that girl!!!

Her prima donna behavior last night was disgraceful, soooo glad she got cut.

Speaking of last night, I HATE the group round! It just seems so unfair that if you get stuck in a crummy group, you're a goner. It's not "American Idols - our favorite group", it's "American Idol" Also, what they focus on are the drama queens (both men and women) and it is excrutiating to watch. I actually screamed at my televison for Tatiana to just SHUT UP!!! The girl has verbal diarriah to the point that I think she is mentally unstable!!! UGGGH!

Yea, Tatiana needs to go! She's driving me crazy. There's NO WAY she would have been in my group.

And I'm just always surprised at some of their attitudes. I only WISH I could sing like these people, and they just seem to throw everything away. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I don't care how tired I am. I'll get only two hours of sleep that night if it means I have a chance at being the next big thing in music!
