Thanks!
Thank you everybody! It was a long journey, but well worth it! We were lucky to have half of our Most Honorable Founding Mothers present this time around and they had nothing but beautiful words for us. Everybody made us feel so special! I could have stayed forever.
BTW, Prospectiverushee, YES, I am a Founder. Wonderful experience!

Omega Delta Phi began in 1987 at Texas Tech University, and has grown to over well 40 chapters, colonies, and clubs spread all over (Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Illinois, Michigan, Oregon, Washington, Wisconsin, New York, New Jersey, California, Mexico).
Pretty good for only 15 years

oh yeah, our chapters are all pretty much Midwest... two in Wisconsin, Chicago, Detroit, us in Michigan, and the other colony in Iowa.

I'm happy to say that since this was posted, Kappa Beta Gamma has grown! We currently have 7 active chapters, including mine, Nu Chapter, which was just installed as a chapter last weekend. We're from Franklin & Marshall in Lancaster, PA, so Kappa is on the East Coast now too!

Congratulations, KappaSunshine (I love your screen name, by the way). I'm glad to hear that your sisterhood is growing. I'm afraid I don't know much about Kappa Beta Gamma. Is there a website? Well...I guess I could search myself

Hey, KappaSunshine -
Congratulations on your charter! My mom was a Kappa at Loyola-Chicago in the early '60's! She used to sing me Kappa songs as lullabies, and the songs and all of her stories helped convince me to go through rush. She now sings them to her grandbabies, so maybe one of them will follow in her footsteps!

New Term
I have also seen the term "independant"' being used for non-counsil affilated organizations.

One that I haven't heard mentioned that is pretty big on my campus is Kappa Delta Chi.
It is a National Latina Sorority with 30 chapters (mostly in Texas and the southwest). I know they were founded in 1987, their colors are pink and maroon, and their mascot is the penguin.
All of their members I have ever met are wonderful women!
