I'm back!
This was my first Convention and I seriously don't think I could post about all of the awesomeness that occurred.
I am happy to say that I ACTUALLY MET ilovetheviolets, sigmaceli, sigmaray, and ms_gwyn (and had lunch wth a few of them).
They are some of the sweetest and most dedicated Sigmas I have ever met. They can also attest to the fact that I have no pack o flying monkeys (despite what the trolls say lol)
Fun times girls. Can't wait to do this again in 2013!

Maybe you left your monkeys at home!
(We missed you too!)

Oh, Jocelyn, we all know you left the monkeys at home because you needed luggage room for all the SWAG/purchases at the Mall of America in your suitcase.
Convention was amazing; so ready to see what the next three years bring us. See you in 2013, y'all!

I'm just jealous you got to see SigmaCeli. I have not seen her in quite some time. I'm glad a good time was had by all the lovely Sigmas.

I did have one super huge highlight---meeting Laura Ward Sweet.
I am pretty sure I said "oh my goodness, I'm just so honored to finally meet you" like 23243 times. lol.

Jocelyn, I was the same way when I met Laura Sweet & Reatha Cox! I also remember going to DLI back in 2003, which was our chapters first BIG thing since being installed and meeting Mary K. Barbee - I died. Convention is so amazing..it killed me to miss it this year. I am vicariously living through all the pictures I am seeing on FB!
I am already planning to save up for Orlando. I mean Sigma and hitting up the Harry Potter Theme Park - HECK YES! Oh man, I'm already anticipating some amazing purple mouse ears!
Looking forward to, what I think should be a tradition, Sigma Convention GC meet-up!
To everyone that went: How was it? What were your favorite parts? See any cool new merchandise? How was the silent auction? I hope Walton House and the Foundation were able to raise a ton of money! The pendant that was given out at Laurels is stunning!!!! I'd be rocking that like no other!

iheart, it was amazing.
My favorite part was finally receiving Circle Degree, at Convention, in the presence of hundreds of alumnae and given by EC members. Also, witnessing an Initiation done by EC. Breathtaking.
We had an Alumna Initiate and I got to talk to her for a little bit after initiation. Seeing how thrilled she was to finally be initiated made me tear up a little.
I just really loved meeting and getting to know other Sigmas (some whom I've done phone conferences with in my volunteer position, but have never met in person!)
The keynote speaker (Anne Bancroft) was great. She was really interesting (first woman to travel by land/sled dog to the North and South poles)
Mall of America was awesome (thought not so great on my wallet). Also, shopping in stores and seeing Sigmas everywhere was a trip!
All of the banquets and food were great (esp. Festival of Lights!) I loved our favors (from HJ!)

LOVE the pendant. In 2007 it was just a stainless business card holder.

My favorite parts were well...just everything! People should know that I'm extremely shy and my Sigma Sisters would not have it! It was tough but I got through it...
Circle Degree (and not passing out, because I was very, very close...) Triangle Degree..it was my first time on the other side and watching EC do it...WOW, just WOW...(not so good, having someone pass out)...
Talking with many NOs about volunteer positions....
The business that is Sigma!
Anne Bancroft was just awesome!
Ok, I will stop gushing now...
2013 Orlando...here I come
I do regret not getting to speak with some GC Sigmas more, but we will in the future.

I'm so glad you had a wonderful experience with Circle Degree! In Nashville, I traveled with a good friend and sister from my chapter. She recieved Circle Degree (I had already done mine previously) and it was one of the most special moments not only from Convention I expereinced but also in life.
Those pendants are just absolutely stunning! I am already psyched for the issue of the Triangle that will detail everything! yeeep!
I just cannot wait for Orlando!!!!!

Allright so I finally found some time to log back in and back track with everyone's message about Convention.
It was my first Convention as well and a great one at that! I agree with Jocelyn on finally meeting sisters that I've talked to, emailed, facebooked to billions of times yet never met. The GC meet up was great too!
This was the first official Convention for both my chapter and the chapters I advise (Eta Phi & Eta Psi). It was really touching to see the ladies being presented the chapter shields by Emily Ellis. It was also great to chat with Laura Sweet... I'm lucky to say that it was her that initiated me during our chapter installation.
There's a ton more that I could write but then, it'd probably be the longest post ever. Again, it was a great first Convention and I look forward to many more.
Sigma <3
