I don't know if you remember the salesmen attending a conference that started on Tuesday, but I remember a whooooole bunch of them were at the lobby bar having beers before they went off to their dinner on the 7th floor (they were at the far end of the floor).
At Feast of Roses I was seated near one of the doors and we all saw them getting off the elevators, some of them approached our door after seeing so many Alpha Gams dressed to the nines. A few of them actually peeked into our ballroom and his eyes nearly popped out when he saw how big our party was.
During the Toasts they were so gosh darn loud that we had to close and lock all the doors...and you couldn't go to the restrooms without being approached by one of them! I think out of their party I only spotted 5 females...wives, maybe?

What's even funnier about the drunk businessmen is that they didn't say anything about me blatantly taking pictures of them hitting on our sisters!

I have to admit it; I laughed at those pictures too. Those businessmen did not know what hit them when 950 of us stormed the elevators and the lobby.
I imagine that the entire city pretty much felt the same way. Alpha Gams were EVERYWHERE!

Speaking of elevators, what was your max number of cars you had to wait for before you actually got on? Mine was 9. Once I even gave up so I actually walked down 30 or so flights of stairs before I got tired.
Alpha Gams were definitely everywhere...especially at Howl.

I think the most I ever had to wait was for one elevator; maybe not even that.
Marissa will attest to the fact that I just said, "The heck with this--I'm getting in there!" And I would literally just barge into the elevator whether there was room or not.
Sometimes being small and assertive has its advantages.

Gee, I wonder if you get free stuff if you're small and assertive?
I remember being in a crowded elevator (I really think we exceeded capacity then) filled with sisters and an elderly man who I think was a husband and special guest at one of the dinners. He smiled during the ride down to the 7th floor and said, "I never thought I'd be in heaven. If I died today I'll be happy because I was surrounded by you lovely Alpha Gams."
The entire elevator went "Awwwwwww...."

The answer to that would be YES. And I wouldn't tease me if I were you, seeing as how you were also a beneficiary of my size and assertiveness! (But my cuteness doesn't hurt either.)

That's about the cutest thing I've ever heard. You have to love a man who loves an Alpha Gam.

Not sure if it was the same guy, but I was in the elevator and an elderly gentleman asked me if I was enjoying Convention.

Okay before I get more confused...isn't Convention in TWO years?
But Monica we can get together sooner!

It would really be great if Convention was every year, but alas, the next one isn't till June 2006. If we waited an extra year during the triennium, two years won't be so bad.
I don't know if the link will work, but I finally got my pictures from Chicago posted on Shutterfly. If the link doesn't work, PM with your email and I'll send the invite. I miss the good times!
