Flowers are definitely romantic...especially when given at random times; ie: not on Valentine's Day or a birthday, but just on a day of the week when you are thinking about your significant other and want to brighten up the day.

Provided they're not the only gift your SO gives...flowers can be beautiful.

Before he became the boyfriend, my SO sent my fave flowers to my surprise party through one of his friends since he was 300 miles away.

I esp. love flowers at work. They can cheer you up when you're having a stressful workday!

I enjoy getting flowers, on random days when I don't expect them.

I think flowers are romantic because it's something people aren't generally going to spend money on themselves...they are an indulgence that isn't needed, but when someone thinks enough to spend money on something that isnt' necessary (no matter how easy it is to obtain) it's very sweet and romantic just because he thought to pick up the phone and do it.

Not only are flowers romantic, but they're (literally) dead sexy by definition. Subconsciously seeing a pot of intricately arranged, brightly colored sexual organs and them being just for you makes you feel a certain way, whether it be simple adored or too sexy for your shirt.

Sounds insane but I wrote a paper on this very topic and got an A. oh yeah, college is less about brains and more about selling your BS for top dollar.

When I was little, we'd take the train into Manhattan and I loved seeing the flower seller in Penn Station. Actually, I got a kick out of the men dressed in their business suits buying flowers and knowing they were for their wife back at home. My dad didn't commute to the city but I secretly wished he did so he would get my mom flowers!

I got flowers a few years ago the day before Valentine's Day so I'd be 'more surprised' I was!

I adore flowers. My boyfriend isn't really the type to randomly buy me stuff so whenever he goes out of his way to pick me up a single rose, it means a lot to me. In all honesty I'd rather have a dozen red roses then jewlery and chocolate on valentines day.

Re-bumping this thread...

My husband and I have two anniversaries-one where we "eloped" to Georgia (Nov 22) and the one when we had our church wedding for family and friends (Dec 19). We haven't really picked one over the other as our "official anniversary" - it's been whichever one is more convenient that particular year. Since Nov 22nd fell on Thanksgiving this year, and it was the first day we had off together since Christmas the year before (he works weekends), we celebrated that day....so I thought we were done for the year. Welllll...last night, I came home and found a dozen red roses in a RED LADYBUG vase sitting on the kitchen table for me. In this case, since I wasn't expecting them, AND he took the time to pick out a vase that was special - absolutely romantic.

I couldn't care less about flowers. I'd rather for someone to cook me a nice meal, or go...downtown.

I should've been born a guy.

I like flowers alot, maybe because I only got them twice... (not including all the pageants I was in and graduation)
First time was my ex my senior year of high school... my favorite color is Yellow so he got me a dozen yellow roses, along with like 3 or 4 teddy bears and all that other stuff.
Second time was when I usued to work at this bar downtown. I had a friend, and he was just that- a friend. No romantic interest at all whatsoever. Well I was having a horribble day and was definitely being a bitch to him for no reason at all whatsoever. He was trying to hang out when I got off work and i told him no cuz I was having a bad day and my boss was tripping and I was tired. Then he asked me my favorite color... I'm thinking, "What the hell?" Well I didn't respond, but in less than an hour he showed up at my job with a dozen red roses with half a dozen white carnations arranged through out the boquet... I felt like an ass for being mean but he said understood and just wanted to make my day a little brighter...
