A fraternity (which shall not be named) on campus used to make their pledges listen to this song for hours on repeat the night before initiation lol.

Aqua-Barbie Girl http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyhrYis509A

Creed-Arms Wide Open http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6UVhZTTWb0
I think it's fair to say that any song by Creed or Nickelback is appropriate for this thread.

Vengaboys- We Like to Party (The Vengabus) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Zbi0XmGtMw

Baha Men-Who Let the Dogs Out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPI1nAqkpLQ
I like all of those.

Two songs that immediately came to mind when I saw this thread:

Under the Bridge - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Crazy - Gnarls Barkley

Terrible.

Shortly after this song first came out, my mom told me she was listening to a radio station and they were talking about a possible hidden message in the chorus. They speculated that it actually said "I'm blue, if I was green I would die."

My mind.. Blown.

That's ok with me.. just as long as he's not screaming the lyrics to 'Under the Bridge'.

A couple of years ago when I was visiting home, my father and I were in the car on our way back from from dinner. Duncan Sheik's "Barely Breathing" came on the radio:

Dad: I'm changing the station.
Myself: Why?
Dad: I dont like that song.
Myself: Why not?
Dad: It sucks.
Myself: Why do you think that?
Dad: Because it just sucks!

That's such a weak excuse in my book. There is so much going on in music, even the less complex stuff on the radio that he has a multitude of reasons to not like a song. He could have said he doesn't like the singer's voice, the songwriting, the lyrics, how the instruments are tuned, the contrasts of volume part to part (ie the guitar tracks are louder than the drum track), it's over played on the radio, etc.

Even the slightest hint of a Taylor Swift song is enough to send me into a rage. Ok, we get it. You've had your heart broken 8765 times since you were 15. Let's give the poor dead horse a break and find some new freakin material.

On the way to work, the light rock station played "You Give Love a Bad Name", "Drift Away", and "Life is a Highway" back to back and I thought about how kids today were stuck with crap like "Call Me Maybe" as their official summer anthem. Way to go, kids.
