Well.. as alphagamalum said, this isn't something I should have expected everyone to understand.

Besides, I think I would have been clearer about what to do if I saw someone get hit by a car.

wow morpheus, you're number 43 too! Best number hehe

You've reached a pretty high number already considering how new your chapter is. I'm assuming you guys must have a really good reputation on campus and have very successful rush (how large are your classes on average?)

Yes it is, but it's not the funniest one he's posted. The comment he made about OJ Simpson was by far the most hilarious post ever.

We pretty good here at Toronto. Most people recognize our letters and who we are. The only thing is greek life is not fully recognized by the university so we can't actually register it as a student organization. So far our class sizes have been pretty good. In order,

Charter: 12
Alpha: 9
Beta: 7
Gamma: 6
Delta: 9

We missed out on a class for Spring 2k7 so we hoping Fall 2k7 will have a big class.

Frankly, I praise God that I have the money to go out and buy a new shirt, and not have to be dependent on Goodwill, Salvation Army or such. If we can look at this and laugh:

I think we can all realize that, compared to the rest of the world, we're very rich, indeed.

Nwu I understand your question completely. I've seen many Asian friends go through rush and the pledging process. In a couple ways I applaud Asian greek life as it fosters very close bonds, sometimes even closer ones than other GLO's foster. Of course you'd be miffed that some random person who doesn't know the significance behind your letters is wearing them, but like what others have said, there's really nothing you can do without harming the reputation of LPhiE and being an ass yourself.

I'd combine all the advice and say that if someone's acting obnoxious in your letters, and obviously wearing them to give LPhiE a bad name, do the brotherhood tests/your equivalent and when he fails them all, ask him (nicely!) to relinquish his shirt. If it's someone who just thought the letters looked cool or something, walk up and go 'oh hey! Are you related to someone who's in LPhiE?' and take it from there explaining what LPhiE's about etc. They'll get the point. =)

I don't praise god but you're absolutely right Honeychile. This nation wastes money like it's going out of fashion. All developed nations do really.

Just so you know, the guy on the right was close friends with the ADPis at Appalacian State. When he told the man wearing the letters that he was wearing a woman's shirt, the man got all upset!

Haha........"Um, excuse me sir.......would you mind if I quickly administered some tests to you so I can see if you are a real SAE? Oh, what's that? You aren't one? You found it at goodwill? Oh, well I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you for that because you aren't a member of our fraternity. No......really........I'm serious. Take the shirt off and hand it over. Sir......put down the knife. It's just a shirt. I'll go buy you some food.......or how about some money for booze?"

One of my brothers was in Tanzania with the Peace Corps and said that he would see people wearing old Greek-lettered shirts from time to time who had no clue what they meant. Apparently a lot of the clothes donated in this country wind up for sale in markets in Africa.

Funniest post in a long time! Of course, maybe they're SAE Phillipines.

Why do people think that just because they're offended by a non-member wearing their letters, the offender is just going to relinquish them happily? They could give a rat's ass what the hell those letters mean to you, it's a piece of clothing and it's covering them up. You can't ask a homeless person to give up their shirt because you don't like it.

Unless you're Macallan. Then you get threatened with a knife. And then cut. Damn SAE perps. Always with the knifing and the drinking.
