It seems most people we know were members of just three sororities.

she should approach those who have already written her recs and ask if they know anyone who is a member of the groups she doesn't have.

Of course, I worry that she will fall in love with this sorority and not have a recommendation on file. I hope that if that is the case they will love her as well and secure a recommendation for her. At this point ... it is what it is. I'm sure we will need to encourage one another as our girls go through this process.

YAY, another Auburn Mom. I am a nervous wreck because no one in my family has ever been Greek. Most of our friends are in one of three sororities and our church is evenly divided between the same three as well. If you don't mind me asking, did you have to go to the Panhellenic Council to get some recs or did you know people from 16?

I'll be rushing as a grad student in the fall...pretty much unheard of, I know. But hopefully it'll end well!

If there is an alumnae panhellenic chapter or alumnae chapters of individual sororities, or both, in or near your town, your daughter might consider contacting them to ask for help in securing the missing recommendations. Ya'll might also look to see if the local alumnae chapters are on Facebook.

Well I don't want to say the exact school, but it's an SEC school that's not the most competitive, but still very competitive.

Hometown girl is rushing at Arkansas next month -- completely unheard of where we're from. A BIG THANK YOU TO THE "GC AUNTIES" (her words) FOR HELPING HER SECURE RECS.
I hope to get a story from her, but I'll take an update here and there!
