Just my opinion.

I agree- not to hijack but no one cares about teenage sex trafficking. Probably because the victims are mostly brown and black poor girls, and the johns are normal middle class married men...

A loopy, disjointed, nonsensical topic. But another.
And speaking of other topics, why is homosexuality equated with bestiality? I've never understood the correlation. I don't like the correlation between homosexuality and pedophilia but at least there is some truth to some boys are molested by gay men. Extrapolating out is wrong, but it's not apples are not oranges so cars should drive on the right side of the road.

My personal interpretation / understanding is that a sin is an "either/or" act - either you commit a sin, or you don't.
There are no degrees or different levels of sin, as we like to say about lies, e.g., "a big lie" vs. a "little white lie" (no pun intended).
My personal understanding is that the right type of relationship is between a married man and woman. Anything other than that is sinful, be it fornication, adultery, prostitution, bestiality and homosexuality.

That isn't true. I hear about it everyday. I am affiliated with organizations that discuss it and there are TV shows about it.
And those of you who want to discuss those topics need to create threads and get out of this thread.

Meanwhile, I have yet to see a tattoo/shellfish/mixed fabric/divorce/women menstruating indoors rally or debate on the news.

Overall, though- the media is obsessed with this Duck Drama. It was all over all of the TVs at the gym. The media loves stuff like this. They would rather gossip about what someone said than real issues in our country. This is non-news.
JMO. I'm glad you are involved with those organizations.

You're awesome. If we weren't allowed to menstruate indoors, would we continue to get paid for our time off work? Or would they have to set up my computer outside? And that mixed fabric rally? I am SOOOOO in. You KNOW those poly-cotton blenders are going to hell.

If you're in a poly-cotton blend, you're already in hell.

That's specious. No one EVER equates adultery and bestiality or lying and bestiality. It's ALWAYS homosexuality and bestiality like they are equivalent. So if ALL "Sins" are equal (not that I consider being gay a sin but I'm making an argument) why try to make homosexuality seem soooo much worse than other sins by comparing it to what people consider pretty vile when what others are doing isn't considered any better in the site of God?

IMO that's because those groups don't seem to have as much of a strong political voice. Or even make a strong political and financial impact / difference.
We are a money-driven nation. Issues only really matter here when a lot of money is at stake. There is money to be made as a result of gay marriage. If its in your financial interest to push for gay marriage, then you will.
(I'm looking at you, all you divorce lawyers......)
We can talk about what is and is not truly moral all day. I doubt one side will really convince the other.

Depends on who you talk to. I know people who do.
You, AOII Angel, may not do so, but there are those who do.
I don't know why some people try to make one sin so much worse than the others. Maybe it gives them comfort to do so because it fits their agenda.
The only other reason as to why some may make homosexuality seem so much worse than the others is probably because its counter to our natural biological purpose of reproduction. Looking at it from a simplified evolutionary point of view - our species can not survive if we are not producing any offspring.
But, on the other hand, when you really think about it the other sins are still considered taboo.
As I stated, my understanding is that a sin is a sin is a sin. There are no "little sins", "big sins", "kinda-almost-sin", or "this is not a sin because I said so".

I learned one very important lesson out of this fiasco; 95% of the country has no idea what the 1st Amendment is.
It's also being rumored that the creator of Duck Dynasty is gay.

Yeah, like that will ever happen.

Someone posted on Facebook: "When there is a show about back-woods Bible-thumping rednecks, why does anyone act surprised when they say things typical to back-woods Bible-thumping rednecks?" I thought this was apt.
