To me, this is what is wrong with Soroitys, here are women who could be a Great Asset to any Soroity, but because they are Jrs. with only 2 years to contribute are left at the altar so to speak.

While some schools have such Huge Chapters, they do not know all of thier sisters. Why not bring another Organization on campus.

Now in the opposite vein, schools that cannot make their "Quota", the question would be why? Maybe some who wanted to join and were on the bubble were not wanted or did not find a Soroity they wanted to join.

When I started the Local, the break down was:

1/3 homies from Lamar, Mo.
1/3 from other Fraternitys that did not make it.
1/3 from guys who did not like what was on campus and wanted to be part of something new that they could help make grow. That to me was the most important one.

While reading the new AI post for AI on Alum thread, It is apperant taht it is easier for AI to associate with Soroitys rather than Fraternitys. Especially from the PMs I have gotten recentally.

So, why does not the Soroitys expand more?

I understand your point and agree that this is the way it SHOULD be. But the fact of the matter is that the vast, VAST majority of women are simply NOT active outside college and most do not pay their alumnae dues after graduation. Here on greek chat we are a rather unrepresentative microcosm bec we seem so involved and positive and eager to maintain our greek ties. I'll give you an example: in my area there are over 600 alumnae of DG and only 40 (that's 6.7%) pay their alumnae per captia dues. It is better financially for the greek organization to have members who are active longer rather than shorter. I don't mean to step on the toes of any person who wants to join at any point, simply trying to present another perspective.

I don't really know that much about how crazy rush stuff is at Pitt, I'm just glad that my friend has gotten invited back to the houses that she's wanted so far.

Teal: She really loves these girls and said that the 45 minute party felt like 5 minutes. She was really nervous about whether or not she was going to be cut.

Blue: She really liked these girls too, they were much better today than yesterday and she thinks it was just the one girl who was having a bad day. She was glad that she got to see them again and her rushers today impressed her.

Purple: She LOVES these girls too and said that she really hopes to go back to their prefs. Says she's 50/50 btwn Purple and Teal right now, so who knows how its going to work out.

Coral: She really enjoys herself here too and really was impressed today. She liked talking to one girl who was really sociable and kind to her.

She ranked:
Purple
Teal
Coral
Blue

And got invited to pref at:
Purple
Teal

The current actives have only seen "Nice Honey". They would not be frightened of my threats.

Now, the class two years ago...!!!!

When is the computer matching going to be done?

WOOHOO! My roommate just called me.... KD got quota! (although the girls won't pick up their bids until tonight). From what she said, only 3 houses took quota, which i found really odd Of course, she could be wrong. We need to snap bid or COB 2 more to be at total, that shouldn't be a problem.

If only 3 of the 11 houses took quota, there must be a ton of girls who dropped out or who just got totally screwed?

I think that only 3 of 11 making quota isn't very surprising if there was a high number of juniors coming through and many of the sororities are reluctant to take juniors.
