Could I ask for serious prayers for my only living uncle? His new wife won't let my mother see him, even though he's been declining, and he's my mother's only living sibling. She called us tonight to say that he's been in the hospital since yesterday morning.

The pain this is causing is horrible - my poor mother is beside herself, and she does NOT need this stress! We think New Wife thinks we're just interested in his money, but that's not the case. He's always been my favorite uncle, and he & I always shared books, thoughts, etc. I could go on and on but it just hurts too much...

Unhappy

I would like to pray for the 4 individuals that were unfortunately killed in the helecopter crash today in Phoenix. The individuals were from News Channel 3 Scott Bowerbank and Jim Cox and from the ABC affiliate ch 15 Craig Smith and Rick Krolak. The whole city is distraught over this and it was covered for over 4 hours since I had it on while putting my classroom together. Thank you

I'm going to second the request. This has been a huge shock to the Phoenix and surrounding communities. As someone on the news said, we let these people into our lives daily and we feel they are family.

hey sisters... could you please keep my cousin Daniel in your prayers? He's been diagonosed with lymphoma. He's 17. They are doing a biopsy later this week to confirm the diagnosis.

My older sister is actually running in the NIKE TEAM IN TRAINING Marathon in October that is benefiting the leukemia & lymphoma society. She signed up for this way before we even knew what might be happening with our cousin.

I really hope everything turns out ok.

Emergency Request!!

My brother, Calvin & his wife are out in Gettysburg, and since they both used to rock climb all the time, they were climbing around the various battle sites when Calvin fell. He landed on his back & head, and the Park Rangers are taking him to York Hospital right now. His back is already messed up from climbing for some many years (he was known as "Calvin Climb"), there are days he's in horrible pain. I would greatly appreciate any prayers or good thoughts for his condition, that he would be completely healed ASAP!

Thank you so much - we're a little scared right now!

Update

Calvin's head & back seem to be okay, but he sustained a few broken ribs and the doctors want to remove his spleen.

The only "funny" part of this is that he landed on his feet, not his back as we originally thought. Typical climber...

Hopefully the last update!

Calvin came home! Turns out that his ribs were broken in the back - he had landed on feet, but pitched forward to avoid hitting a group of Boy Scouts behind him. That's when his ribs ruptured his spleen. Now, if he can just beat the infection!

good conversation

Last night, I was able to talk even more about my faith with my boyfriend (who is a Christian, BTW.) He's had a hard life and hard past (without going into too much detail) and is having some rough times here lately. Please pray that I'll have the right words to say to him and be able to encourage him daily! It's a good conversation and a good start for him to take care of business, but we need all the prayers we can get.

emleepc - I'll be thinking about both your prayer requests this week.

Along those lines, one of the supervisors I was working with during my internship could use prayers for her pregnancy - is pregnant with twins, and has already been having some concerns with possible early delivery (not due until beginning of November). She could really use the extra thoughts, as there are multiple concerns that I don't want to post publicly.

I could also use some good thoughts these next two weeks - I have my FINAL paper due for my program a week from Saturday, so this weekend I'll be hunkering down to write so it can be mailed out the beginning of next week and get in on time. It's a tough subject to cover, but one that I'm truly invested in and want to make a good presentation.

Thanks!

Please keep me and Carrie in your thoughts. I just got news on Friday that my dog, Dalon, well her degenerative Kidney disease has gotten worse, she doesn't have much longer to live and I'll probably have to put her down.

I'm waiting until Carrie gets home because she does love Dalon and I want her to be able to say goodbye.

It's been really tough because you just love your pets. She's been a good dog.

The problem is my heart and my head. My head says to put her down so she doesn't get into pain (the doctor said the kidney failure could cause her pain) but my heart is not wanting to say goodbye.

Just keep us in your thoughts. I think this might be hard for both of us.

God bless you, Bri (and Carrie). It's such a hard decision, yet one that every pet owner must realize that you might have to make. If you decide to go through with it - and Dalon will probably subtlely let you know when it's time - there's a site called The Pet Loss Site which has a lot of good information, and holds a service every Monday night that's very cathartic.
