I made moot court, too! I have made it to the semi-finals (top 16) --> competition picks back up after the new year. The people who make it to the semi's are automatically selected to the moot court board.

Hey brothers and sisters,

Here's a really helpful tip for anyone considering going to law school or in law school now. Take a look at http://www.outlines.com/ , this site made my first year of law school so much easier! I pull a 3.4 GPA without living in the library like everyone else in my class.

Besides the blatant spam quality of the post, I'll just mention that a 3.4 GPA doesn't mean across-the-board law school success. In some schools, depending on the curve, a 3.4 will put you in the middle of the class (not to mention that not studying at all in law school is a TERRIBLE idea).

Again, the rest of the post is useless spam, but just wanted to mention the GPA and studying things in case anyone took the post seriously.

Speaking of curves, can anyone tell me approximately where a 3.57 will end up on a 3.0 curve? (3.0 Median/2.95-3.05 Mean)

Writing your own outlines is key. Use commercial outlines to supplement things, but do not rely on canned briefs or commercial outlines.

It's hard to say in the abstract, but I would think that would put you somewhere in the first quintile/quarter/whatever your school uses, and, at worst, at the top of the second quintile/quarter.

Exactly - I've only used commercial outlines a couple of times, and only to supplement my own outlines. It really helps me to study when I take my notes and convert them into outline form; it reinforces some forgotten points, and reminds me of some of the important cases and concepts that will most likely show up on the final.

On a completely different note: I figured I'd post this in this thread, since it seems a bit too specialized a story for News and Politics. Tom Goldstein has a really interesting post on SCOTUS blog about the recent Herring decision: http://www.scotusblog.com/wp/ .

Just thought I'd throw that out there...I haven't read the opinion as of yet, and I'm no expert in criminal law, but it appears that the Court may have made a huge shift here with regards to the exclusionary rule.

Okay...today I was accepted to a Conditional Admissions Program, known as TAP for Widener Law School....I am still waiting to hear from other schools but, I am super excited about this! I was wondering if any other GCers could help me out by giving me any advice about TAP or any other types of Conditional Admissions Programs?

If you can give me ANY advice at all-that would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry, can't be much help; I've only met one person who went through a similar program (University of Baltimore, I think), and i didn't know them well enough to really get into details.

I would call up the Widener admissions department and see if they can connect you with a couple of students who went through the program. That way you can ask them specifically about their experiences with it, and ask them what kind of impact it had on their first year.

I've been accepted to Capital University School of Law! They offer the programs I am looking for and I couldn't be any happier!!! Any advice from Capital Law students / graduates (or any other law school student/ graduate) would be great!!!
