I thought my Purple People Eater would show “Out for Delivery” today. Expected tomorrow now. Some things could be worse, but it’s very disappointing when I’m all excited about getting a package I’ve been waiting a few days for, just to find out I have to wait another day. I woke up this morning crazy excited.

You’re leaving your current job? I remember you posting about how stressful it can be. I’ll bet TKE Guy would like that if you were closer to him more often.

Damn, I should have known it had to something to do with a car Lol. Plus, you don’t like football. What’s up with the name though. What kind of model is it?

Yes sirrrr. You know it.

It’s a 1959 Corvette. It raced in the SCCA B-production class in the late 1950s and won almost every race. It was pretty much an unbeatable race car in its class. I don’t know as much about it as I’d like to, which is why I’m sitting in my den right now doing some reading on it.

I mainly bought it because I thought it’d be interesting to compare the styling between it and my 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLS race car.

Here’s a short, interesting video on it, to give you more insight on its history.

Seems like you collect them to study how the real versions of them were designed.

Follow-up on my husband, MIL, and Milton:

The storm passed to the north of them, so they are both well. Husband is back home.

Southwest "lost" his early-bird check-in and stuck him in boarding group C. He's ... let's just say he's overweight. He would have gotten a middle seat, and three passengers would have been squished as a result.

When he went to check his bag, the agent took one look at him and saw he was overweight and in group C. They put him in the pre-boarding group (so he got his aisle seat), and gave him a card to place on the middle seat that said "yeah ... don't sit here".

I'm just glad he's home safe, and his mother is safe with no damage to her home, and no injuries among our family and friends. I'm praying for the folx who were not so fortunate.

Yup. That, and for the history behind each one, and also for how they connect historically with one another. It’s really fascinating.

I'm hoping to find something fully remote so I have more flexibility!

One of my colleagues collects watches. He wears almost a different watch every other day. People have some really interesting collectibles. I don’t get the why behind some of the things I’ve seen people collect, but I read your posts about your real cars you drive and the models you collect. Do you have a favorite car? A favorite model?

Why do airlines make it so f$&%@! difficult to get your earned credit on a partner airline you flew that is supposedly associated with the airline where your mileage reward program is...also neither airline/mileage program has been helpful in trying to get it resolved.
