I'm Facebook friends with Connie and everything went fine with her surgery. Her last post on FB was about needed elves to help her fold all of her laundry. She cracks me up sometimes.

^Connie was sweet enough to get in touch with me.

Sisters, I posted this in Greek Life. The husband of an Alpha Iota alumna (and really precious sister) was hit by a hit & run driver while in his own driveway! John will be in the hospital for several months - please keep him in your prayers!

I heard about this on Sunday, too! I can't imagine someone doing that, but I'll pray for Phyllis & John. I remember when she pledged!

My prayer request is for my little black kitty Julio. Right now he is at the kitty hospital on oxygen. They think he has Valley Fever and Pneumonia but the test results won't be back until later in the week. He's been coughing for 2 weeks and was limping for 5 days (we thought he fell out of a tree or off the wall). So if you can pray for Julio that would be great. I really don't want to have to pick up a replacement black one right now.

Oh, my. I didn't know that animals could also be subject to valley fever. I was diagnosed with it earlier this year, so I can only imagine how rough it is for a small animal! I hope he gets better.

I've been meaning to update ya'll but Julio is better now. The first night we brought him home from the vet was very scary. He is now almost back to his normal self. I'm glad he knows he can't go outside and doesn't even try. It is very rare for cats to get Valley Fever. It is more common in dogs than cats and cats usually die if they get it. When I get around to it I will post pictures of his shaved legs from where the IVs were. He is now black AND white instead of pure black.

Hi everyone, please keep my friend Jewelyn's family in your thoughts and prayers. On Saturday night, she gave birth to her first baby via c-section. Unfortunately Jewelyn ended up suffering an amniotic fluid embolism and disseminated intravascular coagulation and did not make it. Baby is fine and is set to be released to Jewelyn's husband by the end of the week. Since the next few months will be hard for her husbands, a few of us have started a fundraising effort for him and a Paypal account has been set up with the email address 4jewelyn@gmail.com. 100% of the money collected will go to Jewelyn's husband and her daughter Gabby. I know times are tough for all of us, but every little bit will help so even if you can contribute a dollar or two, we thank you.
