I didn't post this earlier, but Buffy had a lump that quadrupled in size over the summer. It was removed today, and praise the Lord, it was non-cancerous!! Unfortunately, he could enter a contest as "FrankenDog" in the meantime. They shaved half of his back of his head & neck, and his ear, and he has about nine stitches (it's hard to get him to stay still enough to count)!

He's doing well, but with all of us sick, we would greatly cherish his having a short and perfect recovery. We had to put baby mittens on his feet, and wrap a t-shirt around his neck since he can't wear an Elizabethean collar.

I'm grateful to hear that it wasn't cancerous! I'll keep you both in my thoughts today.

Please keep my family in your prayers. My paternal grandfather isn't doing too well. He's 87, has lukemia, and was just put into the hospital with an infection. I know that his time with us is drawing to an end and I'm okay with that. However, my aunts, uncles, father and step-grandmother seem to all be in total denial. When my grandfather does pass, there will be total chaos because my aunts and uncles seem to want the $.10 that he has. There is just a bunch of other stuff that will happen when he does pass away. Things will effect my father greatly. Please pray to help ease the pain of my family members. Thanks!

Please keep some sisters in your prayers. I don't want to go into details, but they need our thoughts and prayers for the family issues going on.

Exclamation

My mother's best friend, Jean, is really, truly one of the true servants of the Lord - an angel walking among us. I just got a phone call that Jean had a heart attack yesterday. There had been some drama (spare me from geriatric Drama Queens!!), with one woman actually yelling at Jean - who never, ever raises her voice, and it has been worrisome. So much so that I called her son the other night, to let him know what was going on (all of children live out of town). Frankly, I worry that this could harm my mother, too, as they have been truly close for about 40 years!

Other than my own mother, I could not ask more sincerely for prayer! Would y'all please, please be so kind to pray for Jean, that she would have a complete healing?

My friend had to put his dog, a golden retriever, down last night. Please say a prayer for Deuce. He was a good and sweet companion.

Sending lots of prayers for your family.

I'm going through a really rough patch right now... and it's one of those things that feels like it's never going to get better because it's been going on for some time now. I could really use some warm wishes/prayers/thoughts to help give me the strength to get out of the rut.

I have a special prayer request from FirstandFinest:

"Honey, would you please do me a favor? Could you post in Prayer Requests for me? I'm in Mexico City for work until the 16th. There is some 'unrest' in Oaxaca which may or may not be related to the 3 bombs that were exploded last night around Mexico City. (Thankfully, no one was injured.) I'm feeling (somewhat) safe staying at the Sheraton (US company) which is right next door to the US Embassy. However, I am really scared!! (I speak enough to get by, understand spoken/written Spanish enough to understand the topic of conversation - and know AYUDAME means HELP ME!) Putting my faith in God is helping with the fear, however I keep forgetting to ask Him to give me strength. Thus, want help from my sisters..."

Obviously, we need to cover her with prayer in her time of fear and/or need. Thank you, Sisters!

I'll definitely be thinking of "FnF" this week, and will ask for additional prayers from my sisters:

This week I'm dealing with a LOT of stress - between classwork, studying for my comprehensive exam for my program (this Saturday), helping a friend going through a rough patch, and helping my mom get ready for my step-dad's retirement party (this Saturday), I feel like this week can never end. Please just pray for myself to find the strength, energy, and peacec I need in these stressful moments to make it through everything that's going on - I've already had one breakdown today, and it's only the beginning of the week.

Thanks in advance

L&L, polarpi

May the Lord bless you real good this week especially, polarpi! We all have those times, but a wise pastor once referred to the one part of the 23rd Psalm - that the grass is always greenest and most lush in the valley, so that you can be better spiritually nourished at those times.

May you (and all other sisters who need it) find that spiritual nourishment, and know that peace which surpasses all understanding!

Thank you all for your thoughts & prayers. I'm home, safe and sound! (I started to tear-up when my boss was asking how it went... course the colleague I was there with thinks I'm overreacting. She's South American so her experience would of course be different than mine!)

I got into a car accident yesterday. I'm okay, I went to the hospital to get checked out though just in case. I was told that my body will be sore the next couple of days. My car will probably be totaled out by the insurance company. If you saw my car you would be surprised that I'm okay. The bulk of the impact was the driver door. I'm definately relieved but my nerves are off the chart, along with all my emotions.

So if you guys could just send warm thoughts my way, I would definately appreciate it.
