Dear showboating client in the lobby:
Please understand that this is a place of business and I am a professional. So with that in mind, let me share this:
1. I have a headache. I function very poorly when I have a headache. In layman's terms, I get an attitude.
2. It's that time of the month so I'm a lil crispy (i.e. b*tchy) today. As my coworker says, don't come for me, k?
3. I don't really give a flying flip if you want to call the "regional director" to complain about me. First of freakin all, there is no regional director for this county agency. Learn the damn terminology. Second of all, I still have four days to process this report. Slow your roll, homegirl. Making a scene in the lobby only shows me that you have plenty of free time, and that, like a child throwing a tantrum, you expect attention to equal faster service. I don't respond to child-like behavior from a grown woman. So, instead of me being proactive, which I would normally do, your case will sit until my supervisor can get to it. When that will be, I have no idea. Next time, use your nice girl voice and that will get your stuff to you faster.
And to the coworker trying to run interference:
um, you are not a supervisor. Stop trying to pretend that you are one. Stop trying to placate to these tantrum throwing clients and act like you have some sense. Ever wonder why no one will assist you? That condescending attitude is why. Someone will tell your linebacker-looking azz off if you aren't careful. I hope it won't be me b/c I'm scared you'd tackle me and I'd break a bone. Then I'd have to file assault charges. .
Today is not the dayum day, ok?

On the eve of the Obama Presidency, and the expansion of the country, Langston's noise seems appropriate:
I, Too, Sing America
I, too, sing America. I am the darker brother.
They send me to eat in the kitchen
When company comes,
But I laugh,
And eat well,
And grow strong.Tomorrow,
I'll be at the table
When company comes.
Nobody'll dare
Say to me,
"Eat in the kitchen,"
Then.Besides,They'll see how beautiful Iam
And be ashamed--I, too, am America.

Thanks, TonyB06! Right on time with that.
Dear IASK:
(((((HUGS))))) That must be tough. I know I had frequent headaches in my 20s, but they seem to have leveled off for some unexplained reason. To this day, I have no idea if certain foods trigger my headaches, but 31 is sweeter since it comes with fewer headaches. You're on my prayer list (that's the least I can do).
Dear Step Team Sponsor(s) at Chamblee HS:
THANK YOU for having the team sell the World's Finest Chocolate bars to do some real fundraising. Thanks for having the parent with that girl! That sealed the deal for my purchase and extra donation as well as my husband's. It's going to build character for the team that's earning their monies for their team and not just walking around with a bucket asking for donations. I don't know how many times I have not dropped a dollar in a helmet for a team (except my old HS team). I always follow up my rejection with, "When is the car wash, doughnut sale, or whatever activity?" They just look at me blankly, and I SMH.
Dear ME:
Write the letter to the school so they can know this is for real.
Dear Petty Cliquey Coworkers:
Y'all have about 6 - 9 weeks left with me before I earn my CDL and get ready for the trucking life. So you won't have to worry about how slowly I work anymore. (Never mind that my quality of work far outshines what y'all could ever hope for and that's why I get the harder tasks.) You'll just have to pick up the slack when I'm off to start my new career as one of pretty truckers on the road.
Dear GOD:
Thank You for the petty coworkers. I honestly believe this new larger strain in our work relationship was a blessing You put in place so it'll be so much easier for me to leave this workplace and not look behind even once. I'm going straight for the destiny I've put off for 13 years. Whoever said YOU work in mysterious ways has been right for decades (maybe centuries?). Thank You so much for this and all the other blessings. Amen.

You are so lucky that the economy is going through turbulent times and finding a job in this are is very difficult. If I could I would drop these keys on the desk and just leave!!! Keep in mind that I am looking and the day when that new job calls, please be prepared (within 2 weeks!) to find my replacement!

Dear Mom,
Happy birthday today (66th), to my favoritest AKA.
You have been the best. Your words of wisdom, and the belt you used when you felt it necessary back in the day, have helped make me the man I am today. If I'm holdin' it down, it's becuase you and dad, each in your distinctive ways, showed me the worth of who I am and respect for the name I carry.
Much love to you always and God bless,
TonyB06

Dear State gov't,
I just want you to know that you have made me reach new depths in my self esteem when you denied my broke behind food stamps. I get unemployment and you all basically said that I am "too rich" to qualify and that I should come back when I stop gettin checks. what kind of dumb thought process is that? I will qualify when I still don't have a job but really don't have any money to even have a place to even keep food. But I know they think I would have a job by then and I still wouldn't qualify for stamps. and they wonder why folks abuse the system. I feel like gettin knocked up just to get stamps, b/c the case worker said the food stamps system is built for single moms, disabled and elderly. so, basically broke unemployed folks are just SOL to get some aid to keep food on the table.
Do you know how awkward it is to say "thank you" when someone says "wow I can see you have lost a lot of weight"? I would not have applied for the stamps if I didn't need them. I see my nice shape goin to crap b/c I am not eating for real. chuckas!....I just want to be able to have a meal on a regular basis.
Sincerely,
i don't have any kids and its MY FAULT.

i was just told the same thing today, come back after you stop receiving unemployment (right before you reapply for an extension) because you're receiving too much. my friend was told that she would qualify if she had kid(s). it's like we're being penalized for trying to do the right thing in regards to our lives. but oh well.

Dear TonyB:
Does your Mom ever remind you that you're not too old to get a belt to that hide? I was just curious since you said "back in the day".
