Update from my area - we're safe here at home. The fires in my area (though not all of San Diego) have calmed down, where people in this area are being allowed back in. There's still people from my community evacuated to our local community center, but the news report for me is that I'm looking okay at the moment. Of course, I'm off "work" for the rest of the week - I think I've seen notice that all schools in the county are out of session through the weekend.
HBADPi, how goes it up north?

I thought it was getting better yesterday but its a lot worse today. We've been asked to work from home since Monday bc our office is too close to the fires and the air quality is awful. Although its not much better by my condo...the fire is essentially on the other side of the freeway from me and parts of the neighboring town have been evacuated. Fortunately I dont think we will be in danger of being evacuated but the entire sky is orange and I'm trying to stay inside as much as possible...
Glad you are ok down south! I keep hoping we all catch a break soon!

My doggie died last night. I could really use the warm thoughts as I'm not coping to well right now.

Take care of yourself, Sweetie - don't let anyone tell you not to grieve - he was your furchild. If you can on Monday, go to The Pet Loss Site. It's terribly cathartic. You can look at it now, and register Dalon's name, but on Monday nights, people from all over will be mourning with you.
And someday, you will meet Dalon again at The Rainbow Bridge. If you need someone to be there "with" you, just let me know. I would be honored.

I am applying for a teaching position in Pennsylvania. Please pray that I get it, because I really want it and live up there. I am absolutely miserable living here in Florida. I have lived here nearly my whole life. I have been here in Jacksonville for 10 years. I am done with this place. I deserve to be happy again.

Please keep one of our AA members in your prayers. She is going to have a masectomy tomorrow. She is so positive and believes the God's hand helped her find it. She is an amazing member - I refer to her as mom. Thanks in advanced for your prayers!

After complaining of a stomach ache off & on for over a week, I took Mr. F&F to the ER last night. Turns out, his appendix burst and is badly infected!! They are treating with massive doses of both antibiotics & morpheine. They don't operate on burst appendices, unless absolutely necessary (or so I'm being told); they're just draining it and medicating him. He's in the ICU at the VA Hospital. The nurses like him so he's got his cell phone, but I haven't heard anything from him since like 2pm.
Sigh...
Waiting sux....

ADPiSAI - Your family will be in my thoughts. I'm so sorry that your family has to go through this. Please take care as best you can.
Sidenote - your niece has the same name as my younger sister

adpi*violet - glad to hear the good news!
I could use some good thoughts today - got the latest test results for a test I need to have a certain score in order to apply to become nationally certified in my field. I missed the minimum score on the first test by 50 points, and this time, I missed the minimum by 10. Right now, I'm struggling with thinking about whether or not to even attempt to become nationally certified, since I just can't seem to pass what I've learned into the testing situation.

Instead of asking for prayer, I wanted to praise the Lord for second chances! I had a MAJOR reconciliation tonight, with someone who once had been very, very dear to me. I just pray that it will continue.
I believe May 1st is National Day of Prayer, for those who indulge. I know that I'm going to be busily praising Him for my second chance - and for my mother, just because.
Blessings on y'all!!

Ava made it through the surgery. We were really worried when, at 4:30, she was still in surgery, and her parents hadn't heard anything. It was supposed to be a replacement of something she already had, and last time, it was done by 1. Around 5:30, she came out. They had to fix both holes in her heart, and a few other things, in order for her to make it out of the surgery. She's in the heart room at the hospital right now, possibly still under sedation (I'm going to call her mom today). She has medication to take for the next few months, and will probably require a valve replacement at some point. Either way, she's ok, and that's amazing. Thanks for your prayers.

So glad its going well for you! Best wishes to you and your family!
