Here's exactly what the 8/2 Soap Opera Digest says about Belle's pregnancy:

"It's been more than six months since she had sex with both Philip and Shawn but this week Belle discoveres that she's in the family way. "A day in Salem isn't necessarily a calender day." clarifies Executive Producer Ken Corday of the timing. "Days in Salem last for weeks. So, what may have appeared in calender to be seven months is not, in fact, that long. That is the dramatic lincense we take."

Natuarlly, Belle assumes the child is Philip's, considering she doesn't remember sleeping with Shawn while in a hypothermic coma. Which is bad news for "Shelle" fans. "It's not that she standing by Philip as a wife who took her vows or as a dutiful wife who's helping an invalid recover," Corday points out. "Now, she's going to be the mother of his child. And that is more sacred than the two previous responsibilities she's had. Shawn has no choice but to back off."

But all hope is not lost. "I still think it's a Shawn/Belle story; so does Jim (Reilly, head writer/consulting producer)," notes the exec. "but Philip is there for Belle, Belle is there for Philip. Mimi is there for Shawn. Shawn is there for Mimi as a friend. It is a good quadrangle. That is what we want to explore. I think these two couples are young enough to do that."

Shawn got his memory back months ago, but he can't take legal action against Jan while she's in a coma.

And yes, Tek and Lexie had sex in her office, either last month or the month before. Either Mimi's going to start blackmailing Belle like Jan did her, or she's going to start throwing herself at Shawn. Or both. And how are these people still in school, Rex is the only one who graduated and Shawn dropped out, but none of them have gone to class IN WHAT SEEMS LIKE THE LAST YEAR. Does Mimi have a job, cause I swear she's always home or in Belle's loft. Whatever happened to Belle's design job, she took off time when Marlena died and just never went back.

I picked up a tape the other day thinking it was one I used recently!

Wow!!! Belle, and Shawn, Mimi, Chloe and the original Philip..okay the one before the-one-now-that-I-don't-like were so young!! They were stuck on an island. and I'm thinking "Geesh!! How long ago was this?!!

After a few minutes, I realized why I still had the tape...9/11/2001

So when you say Kate gets caught I'm assuming your talking that Sami and Lucas find out that she set Sami up right?

Okay, I missed pretty much all last week and only got one recap via soapnet, but what's the deal with Marlena's amnesia? Does she think she is still married to Roman and that is why Kate was up in arms?

I believe that's a yes for the first question.

Regarding the amnesia, Marloonie doesn't remember ANYTHING. Kate is up in arms because Roman wouldn't leave the hospital. Oh yeah, and he impregnated her. But since she lost the baby, Roman still feels responsible as the baby's father.

when i was watching the other day i wanted to smack kate.

i couldn't believe she was giving roman shit about sleeping with marlena, when kate and john had sex. plus, her reasoning behind why her having sex with john was okay is because they were engaged at the time. personally, i couldn't believe her holier than thou attitude with roman. it was okay with john and kate to "seek comfort" with one another but it wasn't okay for roman and marlena too? what kind of logic is that? plus, i found it rightfully annoying that she was jumping down roman's throat for not fessing up "right away" what he and marlena did but yet john and kate never fessed up to having sex (which go roman, he pointed out to her). can you tell i'm not a huge kate fan.

so i just emailed soap opera digest in hopes that they will answer the question regarding the rumor that carrie is returning to the show?

does anyone else think belle should be smacked? now i personally don't like shawn. i find his character throughly annoying and i prefer philip, but i think it is so incredibly lame that belle is behaving like a five year old who can't make up her mind. why the hell did she marry philip in the first place? oh yeah because she saw jan and shawn having sex, so she decided to lose it to philip and then decided to stay with him and marry him.

I'm sooooo mad at Kate, it's like okay, you had sex with john b/c you both thought your spouses were dead. Well, R and M had sex b/c they thought they were GOING to die. Same deal. And why is she all mad at him, can't she see he is grieving the loss of his child? It doesn't matter how pissed she is, she needs to be there for her husband. He can't even lean on Marlena b/c she doesn't remember her baby died.

As far as Belle goes, I'm through with rooting for her. I just want them to get back together so Shawn can finally get something good for him since Jan screwed up his life. Belle should never have married Philip knowing she still loved her ex, that's where this all started. It was bad enough to lie to him, but to lie at the altar? Then again as he was leaving for war? AND AGAIN when he offered her an annulment in Germany? He offered you an annulment, told you it would break his heart if you stayed with him only to divorce him later, but you pacified him, promised him forever, then planned to do EXACTLY what he asked you not to? I don't know what Mimi's planning on doing to her, but I don't want her to stop her plan b/c Belle doesn't deserve it, I don't want Mimi to turn mean. Why is it that when women on this show lose their men, instead of trying to get them back, they get revenge on whoever's fault they think it is?

I think what doesn't help is that Shawn is a total ass. We all know that Belle has like zero resolve but it doesn't help when Shawn is BUGGING her EVERYDAY "break up with your husband, break up with your husband, break up with your husband".

Seriously someone needs to tell Shawn off. He had done nothing but undermine her marriage since it happened (with the encouragement of his mother, not very smart on Hope's part). I think Belle loves both of them, but Shawn has NEVER respected any of her wishes because he is only thinking about himself and how he wants her back. Which is pretty selfish. Yes, it's a soap opera but crap like this has happened in RL so "if it's meant to be, it's meant to be".

According to the article...Sami teams up with Nicole (remember that NIcole knows Sami = Stan) to find the info that Eugenia is hiding about helping Kate. They find tapes with Eugenia and Kate talking. Somehow, the tapes are dropped in the sewer. Sami digs through the sewer and picks up a tape. But is it the one that implicates Kate?

Later there is a surprise birthday party for Lucas. Sami jumps out of the cake. She once again gets into it verbally with Kate. (Eugenia, Kate, Roman, Lucas and some others are at the party.) Well, once Kate is done spewing her venom at Sami. Sami gives Lucas the videotape. And it is downhill from there.

But! What is going to happen when Salem finds out Sami = Stan? That wasn't mentioned except to say that it will be brought out eventually.

I read that Marlena's new doctor is actually roman brady?? And that the roman we know now is one of dimera's imposters or something like that? Seems a little farfetched to me, and I'm not sure if it's true...because they look quite different, so wouldn't marlena have noticed? I don't know. Also...the whole Belle, Phillip and Shawn triangle is getting annoying! Everyone knows Belle and Shawn belong together :-)

Apparently the amnesia doctor (wayne Northrup) knows doc from somewhere. Lexie said he doesn't take personal cases, but agreed to when he heard it was Marlena. I think she forgets about John and Roman, and thinks she "belongs" with the doctor.

Ooooooooh, don't even joke! They just might do it too, they just might.

I don't know about Lucas and all this "we'll be together if you're honest with me" stuff. If Sami were to admit that she dressed up as a man, got John hooked back on drugs, tortured Mimi with baby doll gifts, convinced Nicole (his ex-wife) to disfigure Chloe's face, tortured Billie (his sister) and Bo with their daughter's bloody belongings, nearly killed Phillip (his little brother), then delivered him to Tony DiMera to be held captive and executed, do you really think he'd say, "See, now that you can tell the truth we'll live happily ever after"?

Is anyone else upset with all these brother-sister connections? Belle's brother is marrying her husband's ex-lover. Sami was trying to get Lucas' brother while he was trying to get Sami's sister. Now Sami and Lucas are together and their younger brother and sister are married. Nicole was with Brady (Sami's stepbrother) and Sami was married to Nicole's brother. I get so confused watching this show...
